I heartily approve. I love my FAL.Another FAL, from an all-Austrian Steyr StG (= 'Sturmgewehr') kit built on an Imbel, Brazilian upper receiver; assembled/tested by Mark Graham of ARS / Arizona Response Systems.
This rifle sat for multiple days on a trading forum of another gun website. Because these all-matching Austrian kits were < $200 circa 2004, Mark sometimes (only at that time) force-matched the parts to a receiver.
That "force-match" zaps the collector value, but having a rifle with 100% milsurp parts (except for the upper) from a single country is fine with me, along with its assembly by possibly the best FAL smith is, for me, a larger factor.
The flash hider on mine isn't correct and is much shorter than in this borrowed image.
That is a KILLER of a deal. I would not have left that one in the GS either. Yeah, it's got the lock but for the price it is a go. And the stocks are sweet too. Besides, I read that the guns that had problems with the lock were big calibers. Not likely to ever have issues with the .38 Special and the lock. Nice thing is you can cock this one for a single action shot, though I wonder how safe that is. With that tiny nub it could easily slip out from under your finger?
I will probably never buy a Canick for myself, but I do appreciate how they have come on strong with a solid value for the dollar with damned good reliability. I have friends that are running them in USPSA, and they are proving out to be a really solid and reliable pistol on par with guns that cost a lot more. Good pick in my not so humble opinion.Brought home a new Canik Apocalypse Edition and a Glock 17 Classic Series

Speaking of Caniks, their Taran Tactical Model is due to be released in a few days. It actually looks pretty cool. For a little under two grand, you too can own one.
