Deprime into a bottle -- just my imagination?

you can rig the Lee Classic Cast Turret press to deprime into a bottle by drilling a large hole in a 20 oz soda bottle's cap and sticking the deprime tube from the press into it.

That would be the old Bonanze Co-Ax press.

The little tray is neat but I made my revision even simpler. Mounted my Lee "Reloader" on a 9" piece of 1x3 oak, bored a 3/4" hole under the press, mounted the lid of a pill bottle under the hole for spent primers. Bolted the oak block to the bench top so the bottle is easy to reach and remove. That worked so good I got a second "Reloader", and put a Lee Auto-Prime II on it, mounted it some 6" or so from the decapper. Love that system! And it's VERY easy to do with common tools, a piece of scrap hardwood and a pill bottle.

I just made one up for a Lyman Spar-T press the other day. Used a piece of 1/2 brass tube with a lub soldered on to it to fit the priming arm hole. Had to do a lot of cutting and bending, but it works a treat. Drops the primers into a Russian oil bottle that I had. John the toolman.

I use the same Lee Reloader press as rcmodel but instead of a tray I cut a 3/4 inch hole in my bench ran a some reenforced tubing into it and the other end into a 2 liter plastic bottle. I just use the Lee Reloader press with a univeral depriming die to deprime then use my RCBS to do everything else.

Sounds similar to my setup:

Ahhhh, you guys are doing it all wrong!!! The primers are supposed to bounce off the press, roll across the desk, fall and roll under the other work bench that's so low that you can't get a broom under there.
By the way mine works perfect that way. ROTFL

Redding Presses are set up the same way with a pimer catch tube. I attached mine to a bottle. I also purchased a rig to go on my Dillon 650 that replaces the primer catch tray with a tube. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but it looks like it will work fine.

That's not a standard Lee Reloader.

My rockchucker is setup with 1/2" copper tube running into a 3 gallon bucket.. i fill it every six months or so...

My Pro-1000 is mounted to a stand. I drilled a 1" hole in the base under the press and then the same to a lid of a medium sized pharmacy bottle, then superglued that to the bottom of the stand. The pill bottle catches the primers that otherwise would fall under the press and be there until you unbolt it to clean.

I'd like to know more about your attachment of copper tube to the Rock Chucker.

The RCBS 4x4 (now discontinued) has been using that system for quite a while. Mine has been running just fine for nearly 25 years.

Before that, I believe the Forster Co-ax was the only commercial press that incorporated this feature.

Here is 1 cu.in. of CCI#34s (approx. 100 primers)

So... only 1 gal = 231 cu.in. = 23,100 spent primers in 6 mo.

Suffice it to say you are a high volume reloader ? ? ?

The Redding T-7 conveniently and neatly dumps spent primers into a bucket via a plastic tube attached to ram, as shown here.
