Premium ammo...couldn't believe the difference!

I've had a Kahr CW9 for a couple years now, but I've only recently been able to shoot it much, due to ammo availability and my own financial situation. I've shot quite a bit of UMC, WWB and the like through it, and kept it loaded with WWB 115gr HP's for defense. I thought it shot pretty well with all of these but...just got back from the range today where I fired some 124gr +p Golden Sabers, OH MY GOD! It was (pardon my cliche) like firing a damn LASER. All shots fired went straight to COM at about 10 yards, which for me is downright awesome. I wouldn't want me firing at me with this particular gun/ammo combination.
My only intention with this thread is to vent my enthusiasm (I'm pretty sure my girlfriend won't care, although I'll tell her anyway) and to reinforce the fact that "premium" ammo is definitely called "premium" for a reason. And it's absolutely worth shooting many different types of ammo in your gun to see what it likes. Next I'll be trying the bonded Golden Sabers...today is a good day!

I'm not disputing your experience at all but, in terms of accuracy, with the exception of .22rf "target" and 185 grain semi-wadcutter .45 ACP "target" ammunition, I've never been able to discern much difference between the cheap stuff and the high-priced spread. Certainly different bullet configurations and weights and even brands (be they cheap or expensive) can make a difference in accuracy on a particular handgun, so it is important to experiment to determine which kind of ammunition an individual pistol prefers.

I've found that down-range performance and functionality to be the biggest determinant in deciding what ammunition is best for a particular handgun.

i'm very impressed with my khar .40. for it's size it is very easy to place tight groups at 25 yards.

Try some silvertips next.

SwampWolf...yeah I get what you're saying, I thought myself that maybe I just thought that the Golden Sabers would be better and so I shot them better, I don't know. I just know that for some reason I shot way better using them, so I'm going with it!

I had a FN 9mm compact that would not shoot for beans with WWB. I mean terrible.

With premium ammo it was a laser beam like yours.

I have the same experience though I don't like UMC for how dirty it is.

I have a K9 and a PM9 and at 10 yards accuracy is superb with just about anything I put in them.

I don't know if it makes a difference that the CW9 does not have the polygonal rifling used in the other Kahr pistols.
