We're lucky enough here in the USA that we have guns being made in many of our states.
I think it would be fun to see who's got which guns.

I'm in CT. We have a number of gun companies who are based here (even though some of them have plants in other states as well).

Here is the list from my state:

Colt
Ruger
Marlin
Mossberg
Seecamp
Connecticut Valley Arms
Charter Arms
US Firearms
Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing

It's actually a pretty darn good list of companies. I wish I could put down Winchester. Makes me very sad every time I see that empty factory. Are there any other CT companies that I'm missing?
So those of you in other states, what guns does your state currentlyproduce?

And for those in other countries, why not join in? Tell us which guns you guys currently produce.

South Carolina:

-FN military-only M16 plant in Columbia
-SWR suppressors

Those are the only two I'm immediately aware of.

Utah

Cobra Firearms

North American Arms

Browning. At least I think Browning is still here.

I heard rumors about a couple of other whose names I can't remember.

My home state of NY. Lets see... Remington, Dan Wesson, Ithaca, Kimber, and Henry off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more, pretty shocking they'll stay in the business killing climate of the northeast.

The FN plant in SC makes much more than just military arms.

They currently produce the Winchester Model 70 rifle in all its variants, the FNP-9/40/45 line of pistols, and they are gearing up to produce the new FNX line of pistols.

Browning is in Utah, but doesn't produce anything there; they out source all manufacturing. Case in point; they own U.S, Repeating Arms Co. (Winchester) and the bolt action guns are made in South Carolina at FN.
That same plant makes the FNP hand guns.

In Maine we have a piece of the S&W action (I think the .22a is made here....)

Bushmaster

And Saco Defense (Now General Dynamics) makes whatever is replacing the M60 vehicle/aircraft mounted MG.

I think.

Illinois, ironically, has several well known manufacturers, which scares the heck out of the VPC: :D

(March 3rd, 2004, Chicago, IL)-A new study shows that Illinois has more "post-ban" assault weapon manufacturers than any other state, according to the release of "Illinois: Land of Post-Ban Assault Weapons" conducted by the Violence Policy Center, based in Washington, D.C.

Since 1994, six Illinois gunmakers - ArmaLite, Inc., D.S. Arms, Inc., Eagle Arms, Les Baer Custom, Inc., Rock River Arms, Inc., and Springfield Armory, Inc. - have manufactured post-ban assault weapons.

Of course, our politicians are doing their darndest to run off these tax-paying businesses. This year's AWB attempt even bans manufacturing. :banghead:
Once-upon-a-time, the Browning family was run out of Illinois, too.

ETA: Oops, that was old info. Les Baer did move to Iowa when an AWB was nearly passed in 2006. Can't say I blame him.

Interesting; I did not know that. Thanks gearhead.

I was reasonably sure browning still had a presence in Utah. I didn't know they didn't produce anything in the state. What do they do in Utah? Cooperate offices?

Noveske
Kimber used to be here, lol
Not sure which other gun manufacturers. Plenty of knife makers though: kershaw, gerber, benchmade, CRKT
Leupold, nosler bullets, thunder ranch

Colorado has:
  • Magpul
  • Volkmann
Maybe someone obvious that I'm forgetting, but few companies make anything more interesting that them two.

Colorado
The only one I know of is Magpul, which just recently started designing and manufacturing.

DataMonkey you forgot my favorite custom 1911 manufacturer in Grand Prairie, TX, Strayer Voigt, Inc.

Minnesota

Well, the ones I know about anyways.... I'm sure someone will add to the list and provide me with a "Doh" moment......

DPMS/Panther Arms
Coonan arms
Magnum Research

Oregon has Noveske, NextGeneration Arms (also an excellent AR manufacturer), as well as PacNor Barrels (high quality match grade barrels, I believe they make Noveske's AR barrels, TOP QUALITY)

NC

  • Remington Corporate HQ - Charlotte (?)
  • I.O. Inc - AK and platform variants - Monroe
  • Para-Ordinance - Pineville

None others come to my mind right away. I feel I should mention UBI Soft Red Storm, the subsidiary behind the TOM Clancy video games that no doubt influence our younger generation's choices the way TV did for others.

One of our local boys invented the Gatling Gun. :neener: It failed in it's purpose as he intended. He thought it would inspire fear into troops and stop wars.

Arkansas has Wilson Combat and of course, Daisy Outdoor Products, makers of the Red Ryder BB gun!

(Not bad for a small state known more for Agricultural and Recreation than manufacturing.)
