That's awesome! I just broke the file off my leatherman and was just wondering how to get it fixed. I LOVE that leatherman tool!

Ya they definitely stand by their products!! The guy that started that company lives just down the road from where I grew up and back when it was still a family owned company he used to give everybody that graduated high school a free leatherman tool lol.

INDEED, I have sent back a few broken ones over the years and they have always covered the repiar, I never got a new tool, but they fixed what was wrong, so no complaints! I had a simular experience with all he gerber tools I sent back for repoair a fewwere clearly abused and I picked them up used as the owners didnm't think they could be fixed? Thats when Gerber was aPart of "Fiscars", I think both are Gone or out of business but not sure? Maybe someone might know and comment?

In the past tools sent back to leatherman didn't need a form filled out, you simply returned the tool and they fixed and returned it? Maybe thats how they do the replacement deal instead of repair? Either way, it's great customer service and I do like thier tools!

Ron--I have a relative who worked for Fiskars some years back. She got employee discounts on all the corporation's products, including Gerber.

All her female relatives got really nice scissors for Christmas. All her male relatives got Gerber "leatherman tools" or knives. Double !

Anyhow, AFAIK, both companies are still in business, and both are under the same corporate roof. And both doing just fine thank you.

Leatherman has always been good and they stand behind their products.

Leatherman is a good tool. I have a Super Tool I have carried for years. On my belt right now. I don't go where it ain't. Only implements I have ever used on it are the 2 screwdrivers and the serrated blade. Never used any of the rest of them. Just got through touching the serrated blade up with the steel a little while ago. Got a good collection of good knives but the only ones I use anymore are mostly just the Super Tool and one of my Old Hickory butchers with a 6 inch blade. Hell, I remember when I was a 17 year old U.S. Marine under going some of my 'Recon' training with 2nd Recon at Onslow Beach, Camp LeJeune, N. C., (that particular day was 'drown proofing') and each of the team was given a Leatherman. They wanted us to use them and test them and then let them know what we thought. They were real small back then but were a handy little tool. I still have mine put away here somewhere. Yeah, Leatherman is a good tool..Just me here and my opinion from past experience....

Another company that stands behind it's products is Swiss+Tech. You may have seen their little Utili-Key that snaps around your key chain and looks like a key?

Has several tools on it including a knife blade, bottle opener, and various screw driver blades, including one for eyeglass screws.

Anyway, they advertise lifetime warranty. Broke one, sent it back, and they returned a new one along with a miniature LED key chain light for my troubles.
