Wondering if a NIB M&P15 VTAC on clearance locally for $1399 is a good enough price & a worthy rifle for my leap into the AR style world?
Wow, I'll check Spikes Tactical out. Thanks Z!No.
A BCM or Daniel Defense will be several hundred cheaper and better in almost all ways. A Spike's Tactical will be $500-600 less and be superior in many ways, and as much as you can possibly use at the entry level in every way.
Agreed; except I'd have to jump right to the $900-$1000 mark. Nothing again Spikes, but as long as I can get an M&P15 for less than $900, I consider it better than a Spikes. Again; nothing wrong with a Spikes; just that in my opinion, it isn't better than the M&P15. Once you have to pay more than $900, then yes, a BCM or Colt would be the way to go.For sub 700 the S&W is a great rifle after 700 you get into Spike's territory (7-800) then BCM (9-1050), DD (900 +) and then Colt (1050 +). To be honest I liked the DD VTac better anyways at least their model comes with an Aimpoint.
During the Obama panic, yes. Now, absolutely not.M&P15 VTAC FOR $1399...worth it?
How much of the $1400 was for the optics?[/IMG] I had this built by d9 firearms in Kansas city. rock rover two stage trigger, winter trigger guard, badger tac latch, YHM FF tube, Levang comp, SS WOA 16" SDM barrel, ergo grip, leupold mk AR scope, quick detach rings, and I had it built for around 1400 with the optic. shoots half MOA(when I do my part). There are a lot of good parts by many companies. I personally don't like what any one company has in every department. I like a hines 57 best!
