I have a pair of large frame cz75 clones. One compact, one fullsize.
For me personally the fit is amazingly natural, it's no effort for aiming (both pistols always comes up on target).

My complaint...the slide is terrible, and additionally my wife has no hope of every being able to charge this pistol. Also the compact is not 100% reliable.

Any of the more mainstream pistols to check that grip like the cz75 but are more "usable?"

1911 is out of the question (have never hit anything with one)
Glock 20 is a bit better but not much.
I have cc'd both of the above.

The Browning Hi Power.

CZ copied the ergonomics from the HP. The HP is better for small to medium hands because the trigger reach is shorter.

Has nothing to do with arm strength. My GF can rack the slide on my 75BD just fine. You *push* with your dominant hand, keeping the other stationary. The mainspring on my CZ is rather weak to begin with and takes nothing to rack.

What's wrong with the slide?

My CZs don't have a difficult slide to retract at all, pretty typical for an autopistol.

And if the compact has not been 100%, maybe you could try out one of CZ's compacts instead, unless you have already resolved whatever issue the clone was having.

How about a genuine CZ75B? It's about as "Usable" of a gun that there is.

Or check out one of the other CZ alternatives such as a P07

FNP 9 and .40 feels about as good to me as the CZs, and has a little shorter trigger each to boot, and their triggers don't have the same gritty feeling a CZ can have.

Cock the hammer before retracting the slide. Problem solved.

^^This. Use it SA cocked and locked. Also, try different slide racking techniques.

Why not try a real CZ75B? They still make them you know. I bought mine used and its been 100% since day one and very accurate, one of my favorite pistols.

they are ea witnesses chambered in 40/10mm. She honestly can't handle the spring.

The "grabbable" part of the slide is less than 1/2" high, different from a 1911 or glock where the entire top end is the slide.

I have long fingers, large palms but slender fingers. That's likely part of my problem.

Thx for the suggestion on the hi-power is good, I may look into that also.

Um, in what way, the EAA witness is a clone
the Israeli Jericho, and MR 'Baby Eagle' are clones
the BUL is a slightly modified version.
And the CZs are based on the Browning High Power design.

Oh, and there are other clones, personally it sounds like you need to go handle some guns, and find what works for you.

As others have stated the Hi Power would be a prime candidate. I enjoy both equally but the Hi Power will fit smaller hands better.

the CZ is similar to the sig 210. bren ten, jerico, tanfoglio, EAA witness, desert eagle baby eagle, et al, are all copies of a CZ.

CZ is not a copy of a highpower.

The slide inside frame layout is similiar to the 210, but the CZ was modeled pretty heavily after the High Power. It's where they got the grip from, before they made it their own. It's not a copy but it is modeled after it.

Get a real CZ in 9mm. Use it like a single action - heck, get the SA version, it's great. I love mine. She'll probably be able to handle it.

The "closest" match to a CZ75 is a CZ75B.

Lots of potential alternatives out there. I like the "change the recoil spring" option.

EAA has a more aggressive grip on the rear of the slide on their newer models than the older ones. I like the feel of them better than the Witness I owned for a very short period of time. As for as ergos are concerned, you'd have to sell both those Witness's to afford on Hi Power that will do what you're asking of it unless you can find a FEG or FM Argentina model.
