I just talked a buddy of mine into selling me a NIB .357mag/9mm convertible that he has had in his safe for years. I am mostly a .44 mag .45 colt guy. just wondering since this also takes the .38 special what is if any the accuracy difference and which caliber seems to perform best in this revolver. I am mainly a big bore shooter, so this will be tame for me.

Get a good price on it? I'd LOVE to own one of those, just lacking the coin.

And of course, let's seem some pics :D

Between .357 and .38 isn’t typically where you can see significant differences in accuracy; it is with the 9mm cylinder. Mine seems to be very accurate with just about any .357 or .38 loads I put in it. 9mm isn’t as accurate. It has .358” throats in both the .357 and 9mm cylinders. With .357” bullets, that is fine; with .355” 9mm bullets that can be a little loose. In spite of that, with my 9mm cylinder it shoots CCI Blazer very well, nearly as well as .357. I am very happy with that.

I have one and its the best all around revolver I own. A person will shoot a little more accurate than with the 9mm but out to say 10 to 15 yards there is not a lot of difference. I have the option of three different types of ammo from one revolver. Whats not to like?
Regards,
Howard

of course you can reload the 9mm using .357 diameter bullets, I use the same 125 grain bullet for 9mm, 38 Super, 39 Spl, and .357 Mag.

I paid $500 for it and think I got a good deal, cant wait to shoot all 3 loads thru it...just too dang hot down here right now.
Sit in the AC and take the pictures :D I am curious how the 9mm seats in the cylinder if you could snap a pic it'd be great.

I have the 357/9MM set up and it is a great revolver, it was built in 1982 and looks like the day it was made. It has never been holstered.

I love mine (along with the 45colt/45acp). I can not tell any noticible difference in 9mm, 38sp, or 357. It is my most accurate gun btw (6.5" blued)

I like mine. I haven't shot the 9mm cylinder in ages. It shot as accurately as I shoot, but to a different point of aim than the .357 (I think it was slightly lower). Before I started reloading I would use .357 in the .357 cylinder and use "cheap" 9mm in that cylinder (not shooting .38s and not having to clean the dreaded "ring"). Once I started reloading I just used .357 brass for the plinking loads and have not used the 9mm cylinder in awhile. I do notice that 9mm is now quite a bit cheaper than the .38 special, so if you don't reload that might be a plan.
