How is your current chronograph demonstrating its "junk" quality?
Chrony will refurbish it for half the price of a new one, I believe.
If it is the kind with the remote readout/control rather than the kind with the readout on the front of the sensor unit, I might be interested in taking it off your hands.
Personally, the Chronograph I want is one without sensors, but which will clock my bullets with a radar gun. Nothing in front of the firing line. (My first Chronograph fell to a 22 rimfire at the end of its first day on the job). Until someone markets one of those, I would suggest on of the units that uses infrared detectors. They are less sensitive to ambient light than most. I have a lot of trouble deciding whether to use my diffuser screens (whether it is cloudy or clear).

It was a very old Shooting Chrony from the early 90's. It never worked right when it was new. It was returned and still never seemed to understand it's job. Anything under 1200 fps it seemed to be a good tool. Anything higher,,, you never knew what it was going to do.
I gave up on it years ago and pasted it onto friend that shot a lot of .45 acp and it worked great. But he still had issues with it if say you shot a .357 mag through. He passed it on to one of our other buddys that used it a lot for 9mm.
I got it back when i started reloading again. It has served me well like always when it came to .45 acp, 9mm and the likes. Shoot a 7.62x25 through it and it goes whacky or a 30-06. It just can't deal with real speed. Does not matter how far away from muzzle or what the sun and clouds are doing.
I gave the unit to a nice young man so he can use it with his bows, sling shots, airsoft and such. And it will do that stuff great!
So keep it coming folks!!!! If you know of any review links or comparison testing post them up.....

I have had three Chronys and they worked just fine. Unfortunately, two of them stepped in front of a bullet to save some paper target's life. This has been over 20 years or so.
Recently, I bought an CED M2 because it had some different download features that I was interested in. I works fine as well.

I've used other chronos, but a few years ago I got a CED M2, mainly for the data download capabilities. I found it to be generally superior to the Chronys and whatever else I had owned--and that is even without the IR add on. With the IR, I suspect it would be excellent.

Didn't get the SW package but considering it. Anyone use it/have experience??
I've been quite happy with this ProChrono, just seems to need a new battery when you use it a lot.
