Went to Wally World to pick up some Federal 22L.R. in the bulk pack--all of the Federal has been recalled, had lots of Rem., but I don't use Rem., too many duds.
Anyone else know about this re-call?
Thanks, Floydster

I have not heard of that, I like the Fed 22 shells but hate all Fed center fire stuff I'm a re loader and after 2 firings the primer pockets open up so much they wont hold a new primer

Federal recalled? I'll have to look into that. I've got nearly 10k rounds I've bought in the last couple of months.

Yup, the guy told me the Federal was re-called, he didn't know why, could it be just from Wal Mart for some reason?

I'd get a second opinion. Willing to bet you could go down the block and pick some up at the other walmart just fine. I've seen wild misinformation come from walmart reps on the firearms counter to take too much stock in this.

Bought a bulk pack of Federal a few days ago, and they had plenty more. Hopefully (and likely) this is just the counter guy making something up for whatever reason.

Well guys, I went back to that Wal Mart and they had two bulk packs of the Federal, so I got them, lots of Rem. 22 LR.
I think the guy the other day was blowing smoke up my who-who:)
Anyway, all is well:) They always have a different person at the gun counter every time I go there, I don't think anyone knows whats going on.

if you can phrase your statement starting with
"a guy at walmart said"

... you should probably just forget it until confirmed by a non WM source

At least you have a guy at the counter. I almost always have to track someone down and then wait while they track someone else down.

WalMart is not known for knowing what they are doing, or saying. Especially with ammo. Here in northern NY there is plenty of Federal on the shelves. No recall here. I'd guess the guy was responsible for reordering, hasn't, and was making something up. With an attitude like that won't be at WalMart long. He's in line for a government job.

Sounds like the typical walmart these days. They have basically decided to save money by scheduling the fewest people they can get by with, which is usually less than they really need. They then try to make up for this by using people from other departments to fill in the gaps. These people usually don't know what they are doing. So then you are left with either no help or unqualified help because they don't want to schedule the proper amount and type of employees in their departments.

Don't stay silent about you having no one to help you. Feel free to tell a manager or the 1800walmart number to tell them how you will take your business somewhere you can actually get help when you are ready to spend your money.

I bought a pack of Federal just yesterday (1/13/2012), Federal Auto Match - Target Grade .22lr - 40 gr solid, they had tons of other Federal types.

ben 86 is right on about the wallmart scheduleing process. when you ask a noin dept person a question they give you the looks like deer in headlights

I was in our local Walmart yesterday and noticed no federal 22 on the shelves and they were unboxing a load of Remington. Since I don't shoot Remington, like others here, I didn't even bother to ask but made a mental note that I'm not going to go here for 22 for awhile.
