I was told by an employee of Fin Feather Fur that they were opening a new store near North Canton, Ohio soon. When I did a search for any info, I found a reference that said near Belden Village, Opening in May of 2012, but no other information. Does anyone have any details? Sure would be nice to have them come to the area, as they are a good dealer with better prices that the others in the area. Thanks.

They've recently opened a store in Middleburg Heights, near the Cuyahoga Country Fairgrounds. It's well stocked and provides needed competition for B&T on Pearl Rd.

Huh. I seem to be almost evenly spaced between the three. It will still take me 25-30 minutes to get to each (from Wadsworth, OH). We almost had a Cabelas come into our town. I would have tried to get one of those "old fools behind the counter" jobs at Cabelas, and maybe spend all my money on emplyee discounted goods................

I also recommend that some of you drive over to Shelby and check out Sportsman's Den. Not that I haven't bought lots of hardware from F,F,Fur (got my safe there, brass, powder), just saying that it is a good drive and an excuse to go on an excursion.

With that said, I think that opening a FFF over in N.Canton/Canton would be a good move. It would provide some GOOD competition for Gander Mt and Kames.

I live 20 mins north of the original. I work 20 mins from the Middleburg Heights store and was kinda disappointed in what I found there. I'm sure they'll make a killing as they always have great products, prices, and customer service. But the Middleburg store just doesn't have the all around selection of the original, and just doesn't look/feel as nice. Either way I'm sure its a few steps up from anything they had in that area for guns ammo and outdoor gear.

Been to the one on I-71 years ago. Neat place. Didn't get the chance to visit Grampa's cheese barn though. This might call for a trip up that way ASAP.

SharpsDressedMan,

Where in Wadsworth (kinda sorta, don't need your house address :) ) do you live ? We live on Reimer in Norton. Reimer is behind WalMart and Home Despot.

What is Dawsons ? Sounds like a place I need to checkout.

We stop at the Cheesebarn there and the candy store. There are also some really great cheese shops over in Berlin, Walnut Creek and other small burbs over in "buggy land".

I heard the counter person mention a North Canton store as well. They said near Belden Village Mall

The Middleburg store is my new LGS. Best prices around here for ammo. B&T seems to enjoy not having customers. Been there a ton of times and maybe once I gotten decent service. Fin is always packed. I like B&Ts pistol range in Lorain though. High prices but nice staff.

Re: Dawson's

Do a search for Dawson's Enterprises and look closely at their site. They have a PDF of their component prices. If you like a drive, goto the Sportsmen's Den in Shelby. Their prices are the best around.

Drcook: I live in Granger Twp and "Sharps" lives not too far from both of us.

There is a backway off Rt 42 into Shelby that cuts significant mileage off the trip to Sportsman's Den. I have purchased a couple higher end scopes from them. I did some research and found that they higher end Sightron scopes (maybe all Sightron scopes) use the same glass as Leupold's, at 2/3's the price. Sportsman's Den was the only place that stocked them locally (the ones that I wanted). They had the first on the shelf and Alex (the owner) was gracious enough to get me the 2nd on a pretty quick turnaround. He was also very fair on a trade in that I needed to do.

I spoke to one of the folks that I have made acquaintances with at Fin, Fur, and F. He confirmed they are building another store. Didn't say where though. I mentioned that I had heard a "rumor" and he said it is not a rumor.

I shoot Blackpowder Cartridge Rifles and F,F,F was one of the few places that I could buy some of the big cases locally and get the primers that I needed.

Fin, Feather, Fur

There was a brief article in the Canton Repository on Thursday stating that FFF had submitted plans to the Jackson Twp. building department. The location is on Belden Village Street in the plaza where Aldi's and Mulligan's Pub are located.
