Are there any? The only ones i see on gunbroker are the remington 7400s and such and in my experience, i want something thats a little better quality.

Is there a place to buy affordable rifles in this caliber? I would love to have a lever action 35 whalen if possible.

The cheapest route would to find a used Savage in 30-06, 270 etc. and buy a replacement barrel.

I always thought they should make the new Winchester 1895's in .35Whelen, as a tribute to the obsolete .35Winchester that the originals chambered. It would be real easy to have a .270 or .30/06 rebarrelled but probably not what anyone would consider "affordable". ;)

I'm in the process of rebarreling my vintage Winchester 1895 to 9.3x62, which is very close to .35 Whelen in all aspects. The gun was $200, it'll take another $250 for the barrel, installed, and $100 for having the bolt (face) hardened to withstand higher pressure of the cartridge.

It could use better sights (Lyman repro?), re-bluing and nicer furniture, but I want to keep it cheap and functional at this point.

Food for thought...
