Tasco scope ID help

Thanks! Did some searching on that and seems to go for around 50$...that's all I needed to know, thanks again

If it's made in Japan and you want to sell it I will give you $50 for it.

That said, $50 is definitely on the low side of things. I bet you could get close to $100 fairly easily if you posted it on sites like 24HourCampFire and Rim Fire Central. Possibly even more. The older Japanese Tasco's bring a premium over regular Tasco's.

Don't think you will get that price either. You may luck up on a sucker that will pay that, but I've seen quite a few from $100-150. They have sold quickly around $100 and sold eventually for the $150 range. I've never seen one sell in the $300 range though.

I just showed you one in the 300 dollar range, you look through these & you won`t find another TR412X40, http://www.gunbroker.com/Gun-Scopes/BI.aspx?Keywords=Tasco Why? Because you just don`t see em on the market & if he takes less than 200 bucks, he`s nuts........

Thanks for the info everyone....it does seem to be a nice scope but the eye relief doesn't seem very generous for my new hunting rifle. Although it would probably make a neat rim fire scope or low caliber center fire. Maybe I'll post it up in the classifieds here for a fraction of that eBay price. My father gave it to me and said "here see if you can sell it to put towards new scope" (already got a new scope :) ) so it's just sitting here

To be fair, the one you listed on eBay wasn't a TR412X40 either. It also doesn't show us the actual price it sold for only the asking price. I've not looked on eBay for them, but I've seen numerous ones at gun shows for sale as well as a few on local forums. They are out there, and I've not seen any for anywhere near $300. In fact, I've never seen one over $200 and the ones over $150 have sat there and not sold. The ones I've seen bring $150 have had the original box and been in new condition.

I think you are way overvaluing a Tasco. When people talk about the old Japanese Tasco's being worth more, they mean compared to the current crop of $75 Tasco's. Not that they are worth more than a Burris or Leupold of that same power as they aren't. That said, if he can find someone to offer him over $300 I think he should take it in a heartbeat.
