Larry,

It was implied that the bidders see a clip of the items ya'll have guaranteed the bid. How long a clip do they see before the bidding?

I'm skeptical of the bidding audience. Looks staged to me. Crowd looks pretty slim too, place looks the same every episode also. But I'm skeptical by nature.

Larry:
Great show but please do what you can to prevent the producers from allowing it to degenerate into contrived, outlandish dramas and farcical projects like shows of similar genre. (the Redjacket clowns, the Gunsmoke dude who pimps out his family, etc.)

+1....... I hate that junk, fake made up story lines, that have nothing to do with guns or the show.

i have noticed the same few people in the audience on a few episodes. Maybe they follow the show.

This is correct but a show like this is still new..give it time. My dad and I have been collecting antique tractors since before anyone else wanted them. We used to follow the auctions all over the country and would always see the same people there. Used to be (25+ years ago) 20-100 people and 10-30 bidders...now at the bigger ones its 100's of people and some approaching 1000 with 50-100 main bidders. The last 5 years or so our auction adventures are limited because of my dads age, and we sell instead of buy because people pay way more then we ever did or will....(sort of like guns right now).

It's t.v...they are not going to put a show on that wont draw people. Otherwise p.b.s. and rfdtv would be big.

stuffff

sorry its not available on the net just trailers on the nat geo channel

thanks for understanding dab
this show is kinda like giving birth
soon it will have its own legs
by the way i Love old tractors esp the steam variety
i love me some steam engines
when u stand close u can feel it as well as hear it!!:)
we will start next season (if there is a next season)
where every we can feather our nest the best.and find folks w money to buy stuff as best we can
one guy flew his plain fro San Diego to every shoot!!!!!

Yay, I can't wait. I will say that the lone commercial I've seen for it on Nat Geo really didn't do much to explain the concept, if I hadn't heard of it here I wouldn't have realized it was something I would want to follow.

I enjoyed last night's episodes. Felt for that guy who paid top dollar for the repro dueling rapier.

some times lessons are expensive!!
we saw a lot of things like that but thats the one that made it on air.

never knew

i never knew there were so many fakes out there, and for the price and effort who evers selling them ant really makeing that much money'example
the viking ax head
if i made that and started w iron and turned it into steel like they had done id ask at least twice what that one brought at auction.
several blades form cheeeeep sword supply house tried to be passed off .the worst were real antique guns that had been reworked
most restoraton destroys antique collector value.

I watched that M-10 segment, and then changed the channel.

When selling NFA items, it might be apropos to mention that the buyer is subject to paperwork and a long wait; instead of implying any 'Mercan can waltz out of an auction with a NFA F/A suppressed MAC.

There is a disclaimer on the screen before the auction stating that it must go through the legal channels.

Thought the segment with the Chinese AK on Wednesday explained better about NFA.
