Ruger also started in Southport, CT in 1949. Not everyone sees cutting and running as the best course of action. Many believe standing-up and fighting is the right and honorable thing to do.

How's that been working out for you in California?

If people believe the prospects in other states are better for them, their families, their businesses--and they have the means--they should move. One could also argue the (im)morality of choosing to support a corrupt government that demonstrates complete disregard for constitutionally protected civil liberties.

I cannot think of anywhere else in the USA that I would rather live. That's how it's working out for me...

Some people bug-out when there is trouble. Others endure and fight back. You're ignorance is showing when you suggest "the (im)morality of choosing to support a corrupt government..." Not only is the gov't no less "corrupt" (just because you do not like it does not mean that it is "corrupt") wherever you live than here, I'm not as short-sighted as you. I plan to endure, to continue the fight -- looking to the future. You on the other hand would have bugged out at the first opportunity.

Then again I wouldn't expect anything different than someone using a taunting nickname like you are. You should be ashamed of yourself.

The implication in your previous post was that leaving a state for the reasons mentioned in this thread is not "right and honorable" or even, in other words, cowardly. I thought that was worth addressing because, of course, there are different reasonable ways to view almost any situation. I'm glad you're so happy with California. Personally, I would never choose to live there again. However, your assertions regarding my being "short-sighted" and "ignorant" were awfully presumptuous. You should keep in mind that just as you choose to criticize others for moving themselves, their families, and their businesses to what they hope are greener pastures, others may not find your choice "to endure" and "fight" above reproach.

If all of the gun people moved to 20 states, it would make them seem extreme and fringe and would make them easier targets by the other 30 non gun friendly states.

Ive never seen a battle, whether verbal or physical, won by retreating and huddling in a temporarily safe place.

The best outcome from that tactic is surviving a little longer.

Hope you all play nice so this don't get shut down.

I've been thinking a lot about this. If we all moved to Wyoming. Then all of the other states gun rights would fall, the elected representatives from all of the other states would then also be anti-gun on a national level. The 2nd Amendment would be wiped out and we'd all be left sitting in one state patting ourselves on the back while all the states around us fell until it went national then we lost our 2nd Amendment rights. I don't blame companies for relocating but I'm sure they supported their state pro-gun movement so it's kind of the same as for people.

I don't fault people or companies for moving. Fighting the good fight is one thing but eventually how can you not seek refuge somewhere else. If the logic is you should stay put and keep bailing water while the ship sinks, then all the people who started this country just shouldn't have bothered and stayed on their oppressive homelands.

But moving from CO th WY doesnt get you out of an oppressive national govt which is what the 1st part of your post acknowledges the end game of that tactic.

^agreed^ I don't know what the move is. If our side got more active in these oppressive states, joined organizations, gave money, voted, then these anti laws wouldnt be passing. Once HiViz sights and Magpul and whoever else bails on their oppressive current states, hopefully they continue to fund the fight from outside. However, its the individual gun owners that are going to win this thing, not companies. Companies like midwayusa certainly have helped our cause but not without the gun owning customers money.

Anyone have percentages on the # of gun owners who: are in the NRA, in state level pro-firearms organizations, how many vote, how they vote?

Unfortunately I don't know that many gun owners take buying a gun as a political act and joining in a political fight for their rights.

^^^^ Agreed.

This whole thing is like a cow pasture on a 100 degree day.... the day after a rain storm.
