Can you handle SPP's at .06 + shipping?

Nope! I stocked up 14 months ago, so as to be prepared for the aftermath of the election. I can weather this thing out. As an aside, in most cases you can substitute SRP's for SPP's if you have them.

No, simply because I know if I am patient I can get them for .02-.03.

If I was out of primers and needed badly, I would try hard to find some locally so I could buy 1000 until they pop up at powder valley or wideners, etc.

Found some today. Fair enough to me. I'm used to .02 cents, but .06 isn't the end of the world.
Reloaders gots to have the primers!

Not a chance in Hades I'd pay that. But as long as someone keeps paying that ridiculous price, Bruno's will keep charging it. If I buy Tula primers from Powder Valley 6k at a time, I pay about $27 per k after tax/shipping/hazmat. I pay $41 per k of CCI/Win/Rem/Fed at my local Cabelas, and that's the most I'll pay.

I'd rather buy $40-50 bricks of .22lr and not have to worry about loading ammo, and I haven't touched a box of .22lr since the panic started.

No I wouldn't pay it and I surely wouldn't pay what the idiots are asking for powder. I'm glad folks continue to post these threads as I've been making a list of companies never to order from and yes I'll be passing that list on to shooting buddies.

A couple of weeks ago my LGS had at least 20+ bricks of CCI at $35 a 1000. I got a couple of small and large pistol bricks. Went back a few days later for some large rifle and the shelf was bare.

Just thought I'd share the find.
you can't find primers around here anywhere.

I stocked up right before 2008, have quite a few, but add a little here and there so I can continue to plink, and keep the bank balance good.

I too have maintained most of my component stock prior to this thing hitting. So far as spending $60 for them, I can't say I wouldn't if I needed them, but it is a pretty steep price. I have bought a few things here and there in the past few weeks / months simply because they were available and reasonably priced. I bought 1k of SPP and they were only .0349 each, $34.99 (CCI). I was in one of our typically higher priced LGS a couple weeks ago, and they had both Win and CCI and were getting $39.99, but that's still not real bad.
What can I say, if you need something, and someone has it on the shelf, you either buy or do without, right?

GS

What's funny is that there is a minimum order of 3000 primers on the website listed above.

I guess they aren't making enough money to fool with one box at a time.

I've never heard of this place but it will have to be added to my never buy from list

Maybe they don't want to be bothered with all the shipping of 1K at a time?

Even at .06,+used case+.01 powder, and .02 for bullet, I'm making my own ammo for around .10-.15 cents round.

Given the price of shelf ammo right now, I don't think there's much of an argument.

Hopefully primers will come down. But what if they don't?

Nope! I stocked up last year. Besides I just picked up 5k SPP, and 2k LPP for $35/k 3 weeks ago to replace what I have used since January. I also have 8lb of WST, and 3k CCI SPP paid for, and being held at my local Shop til I get by there Wednesday afternoon.

Find a local shop that sells reloading supplies. Around here there are a half dozen that nobody knows about, or thinks to check, they don't stock a lot, but primers are plentiful and still under $40/k for anything you want, and no shipping lead time or cost.

You sure it's .06 each?? Try adding haz mat and shipping to that and see what it comes to.

.06 is not even close to what I'd pay and that would be with hazmat and ship. Place decent order for decent price and be patient.

Shipping verification from UPS today.

Total for my order for 5000 primers came to $379.00 that's with tax, shipping and hazmat.
$379/5000 comes to 7.5 cents apiece.

Yeah that's not as cheap as a few years ago, or maybe even a few months.
But nonetheless I'm still making my own ammo for .10-15 cents a round.

I don't care who you are, you cannot buy ammo that cheap anywhere right now, if you can even find it.

If primers come down in the future, great!!! I hope they do.
If they don't, oh well.

I'd rather shoot and have fun today, than not, while hoping things get cheaper tomorrow.

No one has guaranteed me tomorrow.

6 or 7 cents each wouldn't be a deal breaker if I absolutely needed to buy a few. But, I certainly wouldn't be buying a truckload at that price.

Of course, I write this as I'm staring at a shelf full of primers. So... I won't be needing to buy any for a while.
