    = $95 = Viridian Serac 6-24x50 (30mm tube) - Natchez Tax Refund Sale

Ah, you are killing me. In for one. I picked up an American Predator in Grendel that came with a lowish end scope. I plan to put it through its paces this summer and the Veridian should make a really nice upgrade on a rifle I plan to use in a pronghorn hunt.

= Verified with PV/Alliant customer service = Alliant to suspend canister powders significantly - Time for comparable powder substitutions again

I guess I should pick up another pound or two of titegroup and maybe some more rifle powder. I know titegroup has its detractors, but for target loads I can get ~2000 shots out of a pound for common pistol cartridges. If you aren't going for max velocity, I find that most of the fast pistol...

Get you a cap and ball. Lots of fun, shooting skills translate to modern firearms, and you can use black powder/substitute/homemade powder plus homemade caps plus home cast balls if it comes down to it.

    Light 45 Colt loads

I use 200 grain H&G 68s, which is the swc for 45 ACP. Not a bullet designed for 45 Colt, but works well, IME. I use them over 6.2 grains of trailboss. I'd try your promo and if that doesn't work, try some titegroup since traillboss is unobtanium.

Small Game Hunting With Centerfire Cartridges

I've shot rabbits with 38 special out of a rifle. It was a modestly powered (maybe 800fps) flat nosed round with a plated bullet (no hollow point) and it just made a 36 cal hole through the rabbit. More than enough to do the job, no excess damage. If you are using something more powerful it...

Why Do You Carry A Gun?

Because I have a responsibility to protect my family and the world is sometimes an unpredictably dangerous place. That includes both two and four legged predators in my case. Since you are of an age, you can also add that you are now too old to take a beating.

Deer retrieval unit finally done ....lets see yours!

I don't know how many deer I and my buddies have hauled out with one of these carts the last several years. It also fits under the tonneau cover on my truck. https://gorillamade.com/product/gor4ps-gor4ps-c/

I don't give a rip about retro ARs, but I do love the reference.

350 legend vs 300 blk out for deer

FWIW, magazines seem to be the key to making 350L run smoothly. IME, the Wilson Combat magazines are the best.

Acceptable accuracy for a .357 carbine at 50 yds?

Yes, I have one. When I can't see the peep any more, I will mount it.

    Subsonic 6.5

I'll save you the trouble. The softest 6.5 bullet I know of is the Nosler 129 grain ABLR. That one is rated to expand down to 1300 FPS. Everything else I am aware of requires 1600 FPS impact velocity or higher to expand. 900ish is not going to expand. You can kill a deer with that, but I...

Acceptable accuracy for a .357 carbine at 50 yds?

Upgrade your sights and fiddle around with loads. I have a Rossi that cannot be scoped, but a peep and a fiber optic front sight work well to the limits of my vision. I mostly shoot 38 target loads out of it. An inch at 50 yards is pretty typical until my eyes get tired.

Are you stocked up for 2024

The frequent panics and the need to stock up are what they are. Frankly, I lay blame at the feet of the gun grabbers. Otherwise we wouldn't feel compelled to go nuts stockpiling stuff. It is what it is. Make sure you have what you need for the next few years and stop worrying about it.
