My favorite: Rem 700 BDL- Stainless, .270 Win, with after-market stock, Leupold 3-9x scope, epoxy/pillar bedded. Yes, it shoots as good as it looks!

"...it shoots as good as it looks!" That's unfortunate; I'm sure someday I'll see a good looking stainless steel rifle. But they are very utilitarian.

I just picked up a Smith and Wesson 357 cant find model number looking for any information

And the real serial number is on the bottom of the grip frame, if you want an approximate year of manufacture.

    S&W 547 opinions?

I had a 4" 547 that I could shoot better in double-action than any revolver I've had before or since. It was stolen with some other guns in 1995, and every time I see one for sale online, I look for "my" serial number. :fire:

    Strange Swiss Bullet

You forgot to include a picture of your K 38. :) I bought a K31 when the flood hit a few years ago and they were selling for about $100.00. It shot so well I bought two more. Over the years I've given two away, trying to reduce my amount of stuff.

    Walther PP Vs Manurhin PP

Manuhrin made all the Walther PP/PPK's from post WWII due to restrictions on German firearm capabilities, until about 1985 when a dispute between Manuhrin being able to make the handguns under theri own name caused Walther to end the arrangement. Laws differ on the Continent from US regulations...

    Fun gun! S&W M&P 5.7

I bought an M&P 5.7 just beause I was intrigued by the Tempo system, I had no particular interest in the 5.7 round. Mine works well, and is a lot of fun to shoot. Although the operating system is different, I have two othe S&W M&P's in 9mm (a 1.0 & 2.0) that I also like very much, and have had...

Colt New Frontier .357 7.5 Nickel (I put in an offer)

There's a nickel NF on gunbroker with little more than a day to go, current bid over $2000.00, that I've been watching. I'm curious what the final price will be.

.357 Magnum carbine that is not a lever action?

Wassomotta U, you don't like America (lever actions)?! Just kidding of course. I was friends with a guy who had a IMI Timberwolf years ago. I love pump action firearms, but that particular one was very problematic.

Colt New Frontier .357 7.5 Nickel (I put in an offer)

I think you were smart to not put a link to that gun. ;)

    S&W M&P Metal opinions!

I like my M&P Metal very much, and I also like my polymer M&P. Of I could only keep one, it would probably be the Metal. If you decide to look at earlier S&W pistols with metal or steel frames, I'd look at the 3rd generations that usually have 4 digit names (6904, etc.). Of the second...

    Love my S&W 44 Special's

"My 1985 model 624's are so smooth and shoot worthy. They certainly don't make em like this today." That's almost exactly what people said in 1985 about their 1965 models. :) The bottom gun in this picture is my 2001-ish Heritage model 24, with grips by the late Roy Fishpaw:

    Toggle lock with modern materials

I've owned a couple of Lugers, and like the toggle action. A very different vibe than a chunk of metal whizzing back and forth with the usual slide.

Tell me about revolvers for my 15 year old daughter

And the lone voice from the past cried out in the wilderness: "Doesn't anyone start with .22's anymore?_ :)

    Swedish m96 mauser opinions

The Swedish didn't adopt the third safety lug (it doesn't lock unless the bolt sets back) because they felt their steel was of a high enough quality to make it unnecessary. The only other big change between the 96 and 98 was the method of bolt cocking - on closing,, or on opening the bolt.

Colt New Frontier… You Colt purists hate it?

I'm not sure what a purist is, but I belong to the Colt Collectors Association, and own several Colt single-action and double-action revolvers. I think the New Frontier is the finest single-action ever made by Colt, and one of the best handguns ever made anywhere by anybody. :D Since its...
