My cousin inherited our Grandfathers "farm" shotgun. It was a double barrel 12. All that could be determined was that it was made in Belgium. Back in those days lots of guns were made by individual "cottage" makers and imported. My cousin ended up working for NATO and stationed in Belgium. He...
Since we seem to have a lot of Beretta's expertise cornered here in this thread hopefully I can get a questions answered. Are the mags for 71 and 70s interchaneable? Where is the best place to find reliable mags for the 70s.
I found with the 70s that it is very easy to load one too many rounds...
If one bag of lead shot works good, the two bags will work more better. I cracked the stock on my .35 Whelen. After my shoulder healed up, the Lead Sled slid away.
Lee no longer makes a .410 loader, either the press or the wackamole version. However there is an outfit making a loading set up like the Lee Classic Loader of old. It's priced at $90, and all you need is a mallet and the components and you're good to go for small volume loading...
I've used liquid stuff for years. I haven't tried any of the other brands. One bottle has lasted for many years. I guess if I actually used it on my car it wouldn't last as long.
I'm in the camp of don't do it. That pistol is worth more than what you lead us to believe you want. I'll bet it won't be too hard to find someone who would swap you into what ever you want. I've got two 3" J frames, I love them. So yeah, I'm biased. I think you can find a trade much easier than...
I have a Taurus 441, which is a 5 shot, it's kinda a cousin to your Rossi. I've seen the same warning about the Taurus and I've never tried to hot rod it. My go to powder for it has been Unique. Usually a 7-7.5 load depending on the bullet weight. It's a great shooting pistol and most of rounds...
Spring for a guy in Wyoming is different than for a guy for Texas. I hunted in South Texas for 15 years. We were just west of Houston. It's spring there now. Trees will be leafing out the grass will be green and getting tall. The ability to see hogs in that tall grass starts to get impossible...
Just me but I had a bad experience with a bolt action shotgun. Don't think I could ever trust another. The weld failed the barrel came back as a very large projectile. Luckily, no injuries. I took it back to Montgomery Wards where I bought it and they gave me a load about how they had to send it...
I've used 26 grains of some surplus powder marketed as BL(C)-2 and generic no name 55 gr fmj bullets for years. They have shot just fine for me and I'm not expecting them to be match grade, but they do much better than I think I should.
I've been cleaning blued and stainless pistols for half a century now. Never before have I had an Aluminum framed revolver. I now have a 637. I like the little revolver and it shoots better than I do. My gun club has some nifty steel targets and I'm amazed how well I can knock those things down...
I've had a Kahr K40 for more than 20 years. It has a really tight chamber. Most of my brass came from LE qualification brass pickup. And, most of those were shot thru Glocks. The Glock bulge was a real thing for me. I had to get a LEE Bulge Buster. Easy to use and it solved the problem for me. I...
That is a fine looking pistol. I think you won't have to rely on super duper bullets with a .44 sized bullet. That hard cast should work just fine. I've had a .44 for a lot of years and have never shot a store bought round thru it, I load 240-250 Kieth style hard cast bullets for mine. Have more...
I can remember back to '68 in Ft. Worth, TX. That won't be the "average". Ft. Worth was the home of Tandy leather. You couldn't swing a dead cat and not hit a leather worker. I don't remember seeing many J frames. The detectives I would see usually carried a six shot and mostly S&W's. Some would...
I was in a pinch once and just grabbed a can of Pam out of the kitchen. It worked great. Had to wipe the cases down after use, but it worked really well.
