Don't stop and help people on the side of the road

Exactly. Same thing with the "one guy did it once and how he's dead" posts. Both are just anecdotes...about one single time and place...and basically speak to the risks of stopping. As for the stakes of stopping, heck, driving itself is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Accidents...

Don't stop and help people on the side of the road

As a kid, my father always stopped for cars on the side of the road. Always. I spent a memorable portion of my childhood waiting in our car with my mom and brothers while dad helped some stranded motorist. Robberies, muggings, rapes, beatings and shootings I saw over maybe a two dozen stops: 0...

    Submitted Without (much) Comment.

I would buy two, but I don't need the Extreme Professional model. I sure hope he comes out with a Regular Professional model for a more reasonable price. I don't need a knife that can "literally chew through anything." I need one that can figuratively chew through anything. :scrutiny:

    Knife Laws (VA)

As a VA resident familiar with our state's odd laws, I guess I'd ask: Why not carry a folder?

    Blind Horse Knives Dissolving

Bummer. The old Blind Horse Knives website points you to each one's new company. They made pretty nice knives for pretty good prices (I picked up two earlier this year). Nice to see that they will still honor the warranties.

    Opinion on Maserin knives?

I'm not familiar with that brand, but AUS-8 at those prices isn't unheard of. Al Mar makes somewhat pricey gentleman's folders with that steel, and they have some nice stuff. Cold Steel also uses AUS-8.

Which pocket folding knife with screwdriver (EDC/SD)?

I'd suggest the Buck X-tract. There are a few variations, but I have the 735. It carries like a smaller multi-tool, but works well as a one-handed opener. It's very affordable, too (though one of China-made Bucks). A good pair of scissors are another plus, as is the one-handed screwdriver...

    Interesting Conversation with an ANTI

I don't think most antis simply want to "take our guns" or achieve a government controlled utopia. The just want to "feel" safer. I usually defuse these arguments by asking: How would (background checks/"assault weapons" bans/licensing/etc.) ACTUALLY MAKE you safer?

    Forgotten revolver tips and tricks.

For rimfire dry fire, most places aren't sold out of #4 drywall anchors, which work quite well for .22 lr. I'm not 100% sure how they'd work in an auto, but can vouch for them in a revolver...

    22lr pistol shooters please help

You can always get a Sig "Classic" (I have a P226, though there are a few others) in .22lr. It's a full-size gun, and you have the option to upgrade to calibers like 9mm, .357SIG, .40S&W and .45ACP.

    SIG P226 Elite SAO

Try googling the item number: E26R-9-BSE-SAO. Looks like several places have it available for pre-order.

Any Springfield XD owners and grip safety

Another vote for "never had a problem." I have two XDMs; I haven't had one issue in about 3K rounds.

    Which .22lr autoloader?

Depending on what you're looking for, a Sig P226 Classic in .22lr might fit the bill. It's a full-size gun you can upgrade to larger calibers, where the Mosquito isn't.

    I think I want a horse

Thanks for the responses, all. Looks like there are a few classics recommended out of the Colt stables...

    I think I want a horse

So after a few years of shooting .38/.357, 9mm and plenty of .22lr, I have the itch for a 1911 in .45. :) I've read up on a number of brands at a number of price points, but I keep coming back to the Colts. The current catalog is a bit confusing, so I thought I would ask the experts: If you...
