.45 ACP a bad choice for first handgun

If he wants a .45 after hearing that ammunition is expensive then let him get one. I just had a friend buy her first gun which was a .45 and she loves it. The ammunition might be expensive but overall it's a good caliber and the recoil is certainly manageable. Never try to steer a person's...

    Small Rifle Primers

Wow people are paying insane prices for primers alone. Heck it would be cheaper to buy the ammunition at those prices after you consider bullets, brass, and powder.

    AR needed for under 1,000

I know one guy in my city (about a mile from me) who has a couple ARs in stock. He also have several stripped lowers. There is a guy in town here who actually produced AR lowers and sells them through the mentioned gun store. I picked one of the lowers up two days ago for a good price. The...

anyone ever owned a nagant m1895?

I own one and personally I love it. It's certainly a unique design and is the only revolver as far as I know that can use a silencer (when using 7.62 Nagant ammunition). It's a fun little plinker. The only downside is the price and quality of ammunition available for it. I'm still looking...

Revolver or Bottom Feeder for CCW

In general I recommend people get something akin to a j-frame revolver. Revolvers aren't going to fail to work at a critical moment. If a round doesn't fire you just pull the trigger again. And it's been shown in average gun fights usually only one or two bullets get fired. If a person is...

Lawyer Locks on guns....anyone use them?

I won't have them on any gun that I carry with me. But if it's a gun I just have for shooting then I'm willing to get a gun with one if there is no other option.

What the heck happened to 7.62x54r prices?!

It's a classic case of supply and demand. We have a lot of new gun owners and many of them bought the cheap but reliable Mosin Nagant. That means you are competing with a lot of people who want the same ammunition. Since the demand is up the prices have gone up. The prices will hopefully...

Got a Micro Desert Eagle - pics

Wow that's a small one. Looks nice, and is perfectly sized for a pocket gun.

    Springfield armory pistols

I carry one with me every day and love the gun. Mine is the .45 compact which is the same as the service model but with a shorter handle. Anyways I'll shoot a bullet point of what I like about it. - No manual safety to be flipped, so when I pull it out it's ready to go. It does have a...

    I want a .45? Which .45? HELP!

I'd say go for a 1911 or an XD. I say the 1911 because it's the base .45 which all others are generally judged against. The design is ancient but still works great. They are reliable, customizable, and a ton of fun to shoot. You can also get one for a reasonable price. You also have a lot...

    HK or XD

I'll also throw my vote in for the XD. Don't get me wrong both the HK guns and the XD series are great guns but the XD costs a whole lot less. This would be fine in my book but I don't see any features on the HK guns that make them worth more money, especially hundreds more.

    semi auto conceal carry gun

Take a look at the Springfield XDs. They have three sizes which are service, compact, and sub-compact. I carry a compact .45 every day. It's a slightly on the large size but still concealable. The sub-compacts are small enough to be easily concealed and come in 9mm and .40 S&W.

    Is society pushing guns out?

I think it depends on where you are to how society is treating guns and gun owners. During college I was around a seemingly infinite number of anti-gunners. Just mentioning that I was a gun owner (which I always proudly state) was enough to set people off. Granted most of these people were...

    Are guns impulse buys?

I've done impulse buys on guns before. In fact last week I went to my usual gun store without any intention of buying a gun. Out of chance he had just got in a Springfield 1911 which I've been eyeing for a while. I walked out with it. There was no real stop to think about it beyond the...

    FN P90 costs how much!

Well of course it's expensive it's a sniper rifle! Seriously the last gun show I was at I heard a sales lady tell a group of mall ninjas looking at one that the PS90 was a sniper rifle. But in all seriousness the gun is kind of a niche weapon. It first a hard to get and expensive round as...
