    What's Your Daily Load Out?

To the OP, I carry my EDC pistol (Glock 20) in a Blackhawk OWB holster, and I have a single-mag pouch that clips to my belt and has a velcro strap to keep the mag from falling out. G20 strong side 3:30, mag pouch opposite side. Then my pockets are free for whatever other stuff. I found IWB...

    10mm coming back in style?

Fast points: 1. I agree with you on the big picture: no 10mm load can hang with the best .44 mag loads. 2. What do you mean that shooting boards "doesn't tell us anything useful?" What affordable and handy material is an approximation of bone? Maybe you mean it's not an exact analogue for bone...

    10mm coming back in style?

I don't agree about the 10mm-for-bears being Kool Aid-level crazy. Last summer, prior to hiking in Colorado, I tested my G20 and my SW629 for bear defense by shooting them into 2x8s. 10mm with 180 FMJs penetrated within an inch or two of the 629 with 240gr FMJ, both going through 5 2x8s and into...

    10mm coming back in style?

Thinking of selling your G40 to buy a HiPoint?? "I've been thinking if I do get a 10 carbine I'm interested in the Hi Point and I'm not completely sure I'm going to keep my G40." (Cheeks filling....running for garbage can...retching...) LOL. I get it, though. The idea of a 10mm carbine is...

.44 special 255 gr hard cast enough for woods carry?

MaxP, everything you say lines up with what I would think. I haven't hunted black bear, but I've seen a few, and lived in NC for several years near where you describe hunting. I know y'all get some whompin big bears in there. What to suggest to the original poster? There are a lot of anecdotes...

    Hogue grips for SW 629

Hi, all. I didn't find good answers to my questions about grips for a SW 629, so thought I'd share my experience, hoping it'll help someone else. Bought a new SW 629, 6" barrel, about a month ago. Love the gun. But the factory rubber grips don't fit my hand so well. They're OK...but a bit...

What would be the most obnoxious firearm to shoot at a range?

Worst I ever experienced was at an indoor range, next to a guy shooting a 4" 500 S&W mag, with muzzle brake. I,ve heard loud before, but that was flat out unreal, even with earplugs and muffs. Painful, excruciating, unbearable. Had to leave the range area until he left.

    US Law Shield Seminars

They,re gonna try to sell you their legal services. At least that,s what the "seminar" was here in Tulsa. Also, some of the advice was a bit iffy. Like if you,re involved in a shooting, don,t say a single word to the police. Ayoob has documented cases where that got people in trouble--evidence...

    Concealed Carry after shoulder surgery

Thanks, guys , for your thoughts. I hadn't thought of carrying in the sling itself. I'll have to play around with that and see if I can get it to work for me. Thanks again!

    Concealed Carry after shoulder surgery

Hi, all. Two weeks ago, I had major reconstructive surgery on my dominant (right) shoulder--three badly torn tendons and extensive cartilage damage. I will be in a sling for another 4 weeks minimum, followed by several months of gradual, gentle rehab. The doc thinks it may be 6-12 months...

    Suggest: 1-4X scope/mount and BUIS for M4

Comments on Weaver I have had the basic Weaver Classis 1-3 on my .308 FNAR for a couple years now, and no complaints. It's a basic, no-frills scope, but good quality glass. It's also as nearly true 1x on the low end as any other scope I've looked at personally--I can definitely work close-in...

    Prepping new brass

Thanks! Thanks a bunch, guys. I appreciate your input. I will measure the case length, and if all is well, I will run the brass over the expander--I've noticed some of the case mouths were a smidge out of round. And then I'll check to see if they need to be chamfered. After firing 1x, I'll then...

    Prepping new brass

Hi, all. I have never used new, unfired brass before, but I am planning to reload some new, unfired Remington brass, caliber .25-06, which my dad bought back in the 70s and stuck under his reloading bench. Do you recommend sizing, trimming, or any other steps, or is this brass ready for...
