Someone was asking about a trigger job. Check out this link. MUCH easier than just dry-firing. http://tinyurl.com/2r29hh

I have strips and speed-loaders, but frankly speaking a small pouch of 10 rds in my pocket works fine. Statistics indicate you will almost never get through more than a couple of rds in a defensive situation.

Galco Holster Here are the pictures you asked for. I use this same model holster for my .380, .45, and my new .38 642-2, shown here. The fit is perfect. Snug against your waist. Has a FBI cant for very fast draw. Holds weapon even while running. Minimal printing under a shirt. More info...

Galco CON-158B I had this in the wrong forum. It's better here :) My holster finally came in (was backordered). It's a Galco CON-158B for my 642-2 with Crimson LG-405 Laser Grips. It's fits like a glove (pre-formed and the barrel extends to a perfect 1/4" from the bottom). It also wears...

    642-2 Holster - Galco

My holster finally came in (was backordered). It's a Galco CON-158B for my 642-2 with Crimson LG-405 Laser Grips. It's fits like a glove (pre-formed and the barrel extends to a perfect 1/4" from the bottom). It also wears very close to your waist. I use this same holster for all my carry...

    642 - lockup

Cylinders do line up nicely, no end-shake, with a gap much smaller than a credit card (probably about .003 at most). However, I do get a little cylinder side to side wiggle (slight). Does your 642 fully lock the cylinder with the trigger held firmly back?

    Winchester .38 Ammo Question

I noticed my lastest box of USA .38 (standard pressure) FMJ rounds from Wal-Mart (130gn) have flat tops. I recall my previous ammo under the same label had a rounded head. Even the Winchester site http://tinyurl.com/23kvyv shows the .38 USA FMJ round with a rounded head, not flat. Any...

jad0110: Metal polish would work fine. Make sure you shine up the contact surfaces. It's easy to see what to work on when it's open. I have used Flitz and it's good, but it will take more time than the compound I used. As for the rebound spring, I did a lot of research before taking it...

    The 642 club

Did the complete trigger job today on my 642-2 today. Moved from the 8.5lb stock hammer spring to Wolff's 8.0lb, and replaced the 18lb trigger rebound spring with a Wolff 13lb. Also buffed the trigger block, inside of the frame where it drags, sear, hammer spring strut, etc. Trigger has no...

Just got badk from the range My new 642 shoots even better than I thought it would. Used a variety of .38and .38+P. I like the Winchester 130gr. FMJ the best. The +P's are pretty stout, but managable. USE SHOOTING GLOVES. It makes a world of difference. I was able to shoot 200 rds, no...

    Ruger GP 100

Most beautiful gun I every owned I love this gun. It's a proven performer. I have 2,100 rounds through her, and yes, I keep her in this condition. That's how much I respect this piece :) MY MODIFICATIONS (note: when using a Dremel on the internals, do NOT take off any metal! Only use a...
