A "Best Buy" in Chicagoland 2012: Selling (s)crap metal at a gun turn in

Great job! I have a couple that could net me a profit.

    the $150 hi-point 9mm handguns. lol?

My Hi-Point was $150, but it was the .45 and the guy threw in two boxes of ammo. It's worked flawlessly. $150 for a 9mm Hi-Point would make me cry. As others have stated, most of the problems encountered with a Hi-Point can be attributed to the magazine. I wish the manufacturer would put a...

Why do you need an assault rifle?

Why do I need an assault weapon? Simple: The Second Amendment; the Original Homeland Defense. You could also ask the yuppies why anybody needs a Dodge Viper with its V10 engine. Nobody needs anything more than a 1.3 L 4 cylinder in their Honda Civic, right? And nobody needs anything...

    selleier & belliot

S&B is very good ammo in my experiences with my .45 and 9mm, but the hard primers result in second strikes with my Kel-tec P32. Shortening the recoil spring helped a lot and the last time I shot S&B in the P32, it ran 100%, but I won't carry it. It shoots a little hotter than many American...

Ammunition using propellants other than gunpowder?

I believe they experimented with steam-powered cannons in the Civil War.

    Kel-Tec P-11 Trigger Shoe

I like my trigger shoe and you're right; it's feels like an entirely different gun. Kel-tec should just widen the trigger on all their P11's and probably their PF9, too. It just lightens the trigger pull so much, or at least feels like it. I can fire a lot more at one time. I don't remember...

    Picked up a K31 for $79.99

I was hoping to get my third K31 for $79.99, but they had only one left and it looked like it had been sitting in the rain for too long. Blueing was replaced by rusting. I probalby should have still bought it, but I passed on it. I passed on their $119.99 "collector's grade" SKS, too, when I...

Does my situation require any particular care- input from teachers especially welcome

I'm glad to hear things are going a little better for you. My suggestion would be to talk to the boy when he is pals with you and tell him you would appreciate him not acting like a gang member in your classroom. You won't diss him and you won't tolerate him dissing you. Of course, you are...

    How to CCW with Hi-Point

Now that's funny! It would take a larger chuck than that to make my Hi-Point .45 look like an 18 volt cordless drill, though. DeWalt, move over! I drillin' a .45 caliber hole through that board!

Can I make a better pistol out of my Hi-Point 9mm?

The suggestion for the ghost ring is a good one as is the different ammo. My Hi-Point.45 put one in the bullseye at 30 yards and a couple right next to it, so I figured the ghost ring might not be beneficial to me. Good luck and keep working with it.

Is wolf ammo really this bad?

I hate to be the dissenting vote here, but I bought some Wolf ammunition and ran it through my SKS. About half the rounds failed to fire. I haven't tried them in my AK or Saiga yet. I haven't had any trouble with any other ammunition in my SKs's or any other rifle. They were not light...

    Hi-Point Better than You think

You guys really are taking it easy on the new guy. He claims the Hi-Point is better than any other gun and you gently explain the facts to him. Not long ago, you would've ripped him a rear orifice. Or was that The Firing Line? I agree with most people here that the original poster...

    cobra arms derringer any good?

I have a Cobra .38 derringer. It's a handful to shoot, especially with the hard trigger which is a safety feature. It takes me two hands just to pull the darn trigger and hold it steady as it shoots. The novelty wears off quickly and it goes to the safe where it's replaced by my P32 which...

    32 acp for self defense?

All those that were killed by .32's that past 80 years should be told to get up out of their graves and quit faking it; they couldn't be dead because the .32 is too anemic! I carry my P32 with a hollow point in the tube and on top of the magazine and the other 6 are Fiocchi round nose. I'm...

A few questions regarding Kel-Tec reliability

My P11 choked a couple times on WWB ammo, but likes everything else, especially hollow point ammo. WWB is a little longer OAL, so I think that was the difference. Oter than that, 500+ rounds trouble-free. My P32 didn't like S&B primers, but loves Fiocchi and most everything else. I've...
