Those Xtremes do just fine for back yard plinking. A few years a guy was buying a new home and didn't feel like moving all his bullets, so he sold me 3,400 of those Xtremes for $225 shipped. That's what I call shooting on a budget!

Well, I read your comment as 6-3/4" but have never heard of such a beast and was confused. But that happens a lot these days.

    Wait; a 6-3/4" pre-lock Smith? Or are you saying you want a 6" and a 3" or 4"?

I don't recall ever before seeing a Pinto with an 8-3/8" barrel. Nice score!

Consecutive or not, that's WAY out of line. About $500/EA out of line.

    Wait...what? Dyslexia or not, a model 14 isn't the same as a 41.

An older gentleman told me there were approximately 1,800 of the S-series model 58 made out of the total 20,000 production run, but I don't know how accurate that statement is.

There are quite a few of them, but because I already have so many projectiles on the shelf there hasn't been any need to pour any of them yet. I have Lyman (or Ideal) in 410026, 41027, (3) 41032's, 410610, and a couple of 410459's. A couple of RCBS in 41-210-SWC and 41-210-KT, and a NEI 6-cav...

Yeah, the 215gr SWC kills them dead, I just wasn't getting blood trails. Hopefully the JHC's will anchor them quicker. Maybe my never-fired, brand-new-in-box 1970 unconverted Blackhawk will earn me the position of Chairman of the Board, then. That might put me in the lead for points.... 🥴...

For deer I was using just For deer I had been using a 215gr LSWC with a little over 19gr of H-110, but I am switching to the 170gr Sierra JHC with 24.8gr of H-110.

Wrong, unless it's a used gun. There has been a federal law in effect since 2005 that requires sales of all new handguns to include a lock. See my previous reply.

Several years ago they had an internal lock that was only accessible by removing the grips. As I recall, their New Model Flattops were some of the ones that had it, but I'm pretty sure others did as well. IIRC they no longer do this.

While I have not personally seen one in person, I have indeed read about guys doing this.

Model 28's were more of a budget gun, and being an N frame it wasn't at all unusual for people to rechamber them in .41 or .44.
