Thank you for all the great information. I have found a mount which will give me 30 moa. I will leave as much room away from the stops as I can maybe 8 moa left before topping out. This may put me using the first mil-dot at 100 yards. In other words alot more fun to be had with the rifle;)
O.K. Accordind to my maff (correct Nc. spelling), I have from top to bottom 38 moa adjustment with a bullet drop of 332" that is around 33 moa with 5 to spare. so a 30 moa taper should give me the option of a zero from 100 to 1000.
It is a 300 Ossm, basically a semi-wilcat that mimics a 30.06. So if I adjust the scope point of impact all the way down and zero at 100 using scope mounts that just raise the eyepeice which would make the scope unlevel with the rifle ...is this acceptable or possible?
Hello Fellas, I have recently tried my hand at long range shooting. The test at 600 yrds yeilded good grouping. However, I had to max out the scopes elevation in order to achieve it. Since I want to go on to 1k targets this is a problem. Do I need to raise the scopes sight height from 2.5 to 4"...
It is the 24" K8 mag upper, it was only listed in the catalog and not on the website when I first purchased it. Now it think it is the only wssm conversion listed. Oly says the chamber is the same but the rifling is different than the Gamestalker.
I just got back from the range testing the Ossm at 600 yrds
this was with 175 smk, thunderstorms ran me off before I could test the 168 bt hunting load.
I purchased a Barska Swat 10-40x50mm mildot scope. It appears to be a sfp type scope.Ranged it out on a dollar bill at 83 yrds on low power which gives me 2 mils from end to end. Ranged at full zoom at same distance and target, gives me 4 mils to center. My Nc math says, that at full zoom the...
At a col of 2.285 a gap is not visable. I do not have a comparator to tell me where the ogive begins. I have used both 175 smk and 175 nosler cc. Both are giving 1/2 moa. Whether they are into the ogive mathmatically I do not know, however the neck tension is so it does not matter with this...
1stmarine I have not researched any more mag conversions. I have been getting such good results with the 175 smk there is no need. However I discovered a slight difference in bullet shape for the nosler 168 ballistic tips may have to modify a mag to give me a 2.3 or 2.35. The easy mags are the...
