    Any New Yorkers out there?

I had wanted to get involved with firearms for years when living in NYC, but the hassles and societal pressure kept me from it, until we moved to SW FL. Just by getting firearms and a CCW, I felt trusted and respected by the state in a way I never did up north.

can i attach a sling or shoulder strap to any stock on my ak?

I recently got the Mako, and I would recommend it. There are about 4 or 5 different locations on the stock to attach a sling, and the recoil reduction is great. Between the spring, the pad, and the adjustability, it makes a huge difference in my comfort and follow-up. Mako is the American...

    arsenal saiga

Considering that a good price on a Saiga is $349, + shipping and FFL ($50 combined, at least), + $300 on parts to equal an AK100, really makes me feel that I got a fair and decent deal on my SGL20 at $699. It helped that my LGS had one on the wall and I got to handle it. I never "bought in" to...

anyone tried peep sights on an AK?

I have the Krebs peep sight, and I like it. You don't get the longer sight radius of the Tech Sights, but it is drop in. What I'm interested in checking out are the Meprolight tritium sights.

New Mako stock (& Hogue grip) for my Arsenal

Sturmgewehr, your video was one of the things that influenced me to take a chance on Mako, although the stock I got wasn't in the video (and was more reasonably priced). Keep 'em coming!

New Mako stock (& Hogue grip) for my Arsenal

On Friday, my Mako recoil-absorbing stock arrived from Cheaper Than Dirt for my Arsenal SGL-20, and it makes a HUGE difference over the original K-Var Warsaw-length stock. Recoil is cut way down, and setting it for an optimum LOP makes everything more comfortable and accurate. I'm sure AR folks...

whats a good adjustable stock for ak wasr?

I just put a Mako adjustable stock on my Arsenal this afternoon, and it feels really solid. Got it from Cheaper Than Dirt, and it cost a little more than the Tapco. I figure buy once, cry once.

Does it bother you to buy more than one gun at once

I just like to spread that new gun afterglow over time, and really get into each new one.

Need advice on what to buy for Home Defense

I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions, so here goes mine: for your situation, IMHO, a basic pump shotgun will fill your needs adequately. The Remington 870 is probably the most popular one in America, although Mossberg also makes a very good product as well. You can get a new 870 at Wal-Mart...

    Ncstar Cheap or affordable?

I used mine for a few trips to the range and then it broke. I'd never want my life to depend on an NcStar product.
