80-Year-Old Chicago Man Kills Armed Home Invader

As an Illinois resident, I am extremely happy about this story. I am glad the man and his wife were not hurt, and hope this will only help Illinois

    P22 vs Misquito

Sig p226/9 classic .22. Give you the option to convert to 9mm, .40, or .357 sig later. I have no experience with it, but it seems like a great option.

    Sig Classic 22 series

I'm considering getting either the p229 or p226 classic 22, and then a caliber exchange kit for .40 S&W. From what I understand, the classic 22's are either the p220, p226, or p229 frame with a .22 conversion kit. Is the .22 kit worth it? I know .22 pistols can be hit or miss, so I was wondering...

Question about my new Sig Sauer purchase

I always hear the p229 is one of the best Sigs out there, even though I've never fired one myself, so I think you have a great gun there.

Some I'm looking to get into law enforcement when I graduate...

Thanks! The Glock 22 does seem to be my best bet, I'll talk to a few cops at the local departments and see what they carry. For the campus police at least, I've noticed they carry everything from Glocks to 1911's. The city cops also seem to have a variety, but Glocks seem to be the most common...

Some I'm looking to get into law enforcement when I graduate...

And I'm looking for a pistol to practice with for the next year. I only currently have a Ruger SR9, with a 1911 possibly coming in the next few months. But I'm more interested in something I'd be using on a daily basis. I'm looking for something in .40 S&W, preferably not a Glock (I have...

Help me pick a new pistol

Have you considered a Sig p229? It might work better for concealed carry if that is your goal. If not, the p226 is an amazing weapon. I've never fired one (unfortunately), but I hear a Sig p228 is one of the best 9mm out there, better than the p229 i 9mm for various reasons. Again, I can't...

How Many Guns do You Own?

3... I'm a noob Ruger SR9 Ruger 10/22 Remington 870 Express I'm getting a Mossberg 500 next, and then a 1911 by the end of summer. I'm liking the looks of the Remington. Once I graduate college I plan on getting a few Sigs, as well as some revolvers. Then maybe some larger rifles

    Considering this combo

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/37_336/products_id/46907 This seem like a good price? I don't really care for the pistol grip, but I want the 18 inch barrel. Thoughts?

Trying to decide on a new pistol

I hear mixed things about Taurus firearms. I never really considered the Stoeger before, I'll look into it though

Trying to decide on a new pistol

I'm trying to decide on what to get next. I'm either looking at a .45 of some sort, most likely a 1911, or a .380, most likely a Sig p232. I would love a Sig p220, but I can't afford that just yet. Although the p220 Classic .22 is an option, with the .45 kit to come later. This would be my...

Any other steel pistols as nice as a Sig 226?

In my personal opinion, Sig makes some of the best quality handguns out there. My friend has a stainless P226 9mm, and it is by far my favorite pistol to shoot. My experience with handguns is limited however, so there may exist some better firearms out there That is a sharp looking...

How often do you go shooting?

Once a month. An hour trip to the nearest range and an hour trip to my friends farm allows me to shoot far less than I'd like. :( I make sure to make it once a month though

Do you shoot with your weak hand? BE HONEST!

Eh, not nearly as often as I should. I need to practice with it more
