    I doubt the life boat was bobbing a lot as it was being towed from what i understand. Think of a water skiier. It was probably a trick offering to tow it as it probably steadied it some.

    I need advice: Changing my SHTF rifle.

    What I like about the AK is that it is very concealable with a folding stock. It can be put into a duffle bag(loaded), tennis racket case, folding chair case, etc... Magazines are somewhat cheap and sturdy, and ammo is still cheap relatively. Train so you know you can hit with it...

    Red Dot scope for my AK?

    I would suggest one of these. http://www.onesourcetactical.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=150 I have the first one in the list as well as a few POSP scopes. PK-ASv would be fine as well as the above post mentions. It makes sense to get Russian optics for your Russian style rifle.

    I can tell you the upper AMD gas tube is shorter than the standard. I have both. I'm not sure about the lower, and aftermarket parts for the AMD.
