it wieghs in at 26 oz according to their website, But my rifle is heavy anyway it's in a boyds thumbhole and has a what they call a lightwieght target barrel on it, but it's much heavier than a standard sporter barrel. I typically like to shoot at 12" targets at that distance. You are right...
yeah I have looked thru one at my local sportsmans warehouse clarity isn't bad for the price. I have shot a centerpoint 4-16 and the firefield is by far clearer and has way better eye relief. Idk how the waranty is on the firefield but they say limited lifetime.
So I am on a tight budget but want something more than a 3x9 scope on my 308. I have been looking at the firefield 4x16x42 tactical scope. It seems decently made and and decently clear and it's under $100 I typically shoot 100-400 yards and want to see what I am shooting at. I will eventully...
I think it's worth the effort. My brother has the same rifle without the bedding and trigger work it's almost unpleasant to shoot in comparison. I wouldn't go with a scout mount personally but I hate long eye relief scopes especially since none are real high magnification.
I used the...
Finally got around to finishing the 325. I had a harbor frieght powder coat machine and some powder so I got busy. Turned out pretty good it's gloss black and seems to be holding up good took a little abuse during deer hunting.
have a range report with pics for you guys. Its a real...
no it wasn't drilled and tapped being an 325A I bought a Bsquare mount and it's a great piece I just caution that drilling and tapping can be a huge pita
i like the leverevolution bullets but there are nearly impossible to find where i am at and are highly cost prohibitive to plink with and shoot varmits. Plus from the research i have done I can get the bullet I want for about half of what it costs for even federals at the store. A press isn't...
thanks fellas It looks like i need to go shopping for some bullets, powder and primers. I have over 100 federal, win, remington cases that are all cleaned and ready to go. gonna try and go with the above mentioned bullets and the 3031 powder.
Is there any other powder that will work...
dale I get what you are saying but I know when I load the my mag with the round nose and even with some flat points i had there was still 1/4-3/8" left in front of the bullet in the mag.
do you have any data for that particular round?
my rifle prefers the 150 grainers too. I think it's due to the short barrel but where I am at ammo is hard to get so I take what I can. I have a post under the reloading section asking for some data on some 150 grain spitzers think it should improve the accuracy a fair bit. that is if i can...
Gunner boy: that was my problem too thats why i took all the tme and effort to do all the things above which is what I attribute to the improved accuracy 2" at 100 yds is fine for shooting large game but i like to varmit hunt with it too and they are a much smaller target.
As far as the...
yes i realize that it is a slower round but in reality not much less than the .308 which uses the same bullet.
james2 thanks for the reply what primers do you like to use?
are these the bullets i want...
