Thinking of getting the Bodyguard 380.

Every time i read of the 'SandW bodyguard', I think of the model 438/638 Bodyguard. I would suggest that, or it's cousin, the 442/642. No tap, rack, bang drill needed.

Hi Gents. Seeking a pocket pistol. (deep CC)

IF for 'deep ccw', the C.I.A. chose the SandW J-frame revolver, all those years before, why not now?

Why did you start carrying a gun?

It was a combination of: - my disability going beyond my hearing - the sociopolitical climate change since 2008 - The fact that jihadists are loose in my country - I survived SouthEast Asia, and i'm not handing over my life to some street punk

Train with what you carry. But what about +P loads?

None of my firearms are of the 'plus p' generation, and i do just fine. Since the 115 grain was mentioned, I shoot the Remington L9MM1/MM3 series. The rounds have been around since before the '80's, and are accurate, and function fine in mine.

Valuable insights into the psychodynamics of responses to "Gun Violence"

re:valuable insights I have never taken too much stock on folks that get paid to tell me how, what, and why I think as I do. That is an unsettled science, with the next generation throwing the curve balls. When I was growing up, it was my DAD that taught me what was right and wrong, and how...

    Article: Carrying in Church

re:Carrying in chrch IN the Old Testament, the story is that when the temple was being rebuilt, the workers carried bricks in one hand, and their spear in the other. So, that snarkiness about the god of the bible's protection being questioned means that individual needs to go back, and read...

S&W or Ruger 38 or 357 for CC?

For CCW, I carry a '642' design in .38 Special, loaded with either full standard pressure wadcutters, or standard pressure non-hollow point semi-wadcutters. I would suggest, for a trail gun, a plus-p rated four-inch barreled .38 Special revolver. Why? There are a myriad of standard pressure and...

What's a good holster for non belted pants

dear gym, Since having my third round with a colostomy, this time right under the now-gone belt, I have had some time to 'noodle this out', so here is a hint. Suspenders are a good thing. If you are not of the 'Brooks Brothers Clothiers' type, any wide model will work. I have looked at...

    Safariland vs HKS Speedloader

In the land of revolvers, the roads of reloading have been well traveled, 'cut across the median', and have even been driven backwards, depending upon the individual. Mas Ayoob, knowledgeable man, ain't the only guru. I would suggest that, in this day and age, where 'the printed book' is...

You're not a true American if you don't own a xxx

I have heard that axiom used for far too manythings, YET: Since this an all-American red-white-and-blue firearms forum, I will submit the following. There is a 1911 camp. There is a lever action/.30-30/.45-70 camp. There are CAMPS devoted to the various Continental 48 firearms...

    Favorite .38Spl Snub Loads?

Why anyone, in this day and age, where every penny that we earn is looked upon by government as not your money, would someone buy outrageously overpriced ammunition, where for years, and from a few coroners on record at that, that simple wadcutters, and I do NOT mean the 'Apple Corp.' equivalent...

Spin off of,"Reliability of your EDC"

re: reliability I own a 1982 Belgian Hi Power, that is the Eveready Rabbit. I own a 1973 SandW Model 15, which is another rabbit. Both reputable manufacturers, both reputable firearms.

    What distance to practice

re: distance The OP said: "I practice with the Ruger at 3 and 5 yards and the 40 out to 7 and 10 yards. " Could you, since you put yourself in a box, shoot the Ruger, at 10 yards? Oh, on Monday, I carry a 9mm Glock. Oh, on Tuesday, I carry a .357 Sig. Oh, on Wednesday, I carry a .45...

    Interesting perspective

I agree that the Sarge's perspective IS interesting AND thought-provoking. For we who do not wear the uniform, to have the mind that, wherever we roam, might turn out to be our own 'Hogan's Alley', could be our own challenge. For those of us who ONLY have the typical indoor range, without...
