    Who here still eats rabbit?

I will only take a rabbit after we get a good week of freezing weather, that takes care of all the parasites. The best way I have to cook it is to put teh same kind of spice you would put on a chicken on it, put it in a cast iron pan with a couple strips of bacon over it, and put it in teh...

    bobcat hunting

These were taken post deer season, apparently my cousin had shot 2 deer at once wtihout knowing it, they didnt find the other carcas until much later and drug it out infront of a trail cam. As far as bullet, I assume a bobcat is like a fox, my 22-250 wtih 55gr Hornady SP, will punch through a...

Raspberry bushes for deer or bear?

Speaking of Turkey, my mother cannot keep the turkeys out of her rasberry bushes, she complains they eat so much she doesnt have enough to make jelly with.

Raspberry bushes for deer or bear?

I dont think rasberries count as an invasive species, they grow in the wild, but one thing you will find is that wild rasberries will be very small and not as sweet as dommestics. I do not know if that is because of the variety, or the fact they are competing with the surrounding weeds\grass for...

    tick repellent hunting clothes

I walk in a lot of CRP that is lousy with ticks, you can scrape them off your chlothes by the handfull, I will douse myself in DEET, I also wear dog flea and tick collers around my ankles, that seems to make a difference as well.

Max deer kill 7 mm mag

Hunting is having the ability to get close enough to make a good shot on an animal reguardless of if you are in a stand or on a stalk. Many of the best hunters I know are not good shots, some use guns incapable of 3 MOA as their rifles are 3 generations old and only shoot during deer season...

Should I buy Lifetime Hunting and Fishing License?

I grew up in MN, I still own land there that I deer hunt every year, but because I moved across the river to ND my out of state license costs $140 per deer, man I wish they offered those when I lived there, because they follow you as you move. So if you feel you that if you ever move from MN you...

    Determining Bullet Seat Depth

It all has to do with your rifle, for hunting or field type loads, .020-30 off the lands is fine, you will have to play with some differnt depths to fidn out what works for you. For competition loads people like to get closer than that, even touching the lands in some cases, the problem with...

    Shoot gun just after cleaning?

I allways shoot 1 round through a clean rifle bore before I need the next shot to count. I store my guns clean, but before I go hunting I will fire a round at the range, POI wont change dramatically at 100 yards with a clean bore shot, but at 200 or more the POI can be several inches.

    Youth Hunting Ethics.

My first high powered rifle was a 3006, cant remember how old I was, 12 maybe? I hated it, it may as well had spikes instead of a buttplate, but today's technology in muzzle breaks and squishy recoil pads have done a lot to change that.
