These "kids" did have someone to teach them about guns. He had just completed a safety course. There are basic courses offered all over the place.Even if you don't grow up around guns...or with parents that teach you...that is no reason to not educate yourself. Caryn

In Virginia, a weapon laying on the seat/dash, or open console is open carried...no permit needed. I know this because I asked our local police department about this question specifically. Caryn

That is true.. I live in VA and can open carry with out a permit. I can walk in to any gun shop, buy a gun, load it and walk down the street with it. If I want to conceal, I need to go to the court house file my paperwork, then to the police department and get my finger prints and wait 3-6 weeks...

People don't need to see the light. They will carry the way THEY feel most comfortable. I open carry, even after I get my concealed I will continue to open carry. I am not trying to change peoples minds. You do it your way...I will do it my way. I see it as a deterrent, to people only half heart...

So preference for finish should play NO role in selecting your weapon of choice after you have decided on a base and a caliber? Wow...someone should have told that to the manufacturers before they started with stainless finishes, blued, parkarized,nickel, camo..ect,ect,ect. I think it is great...

Again...this isn't so much of a caliber thing as it is finding the right house(gun and size) for the caliber of choice. And only SHE will know it by handling it and shooting it. Caryn
