My GF decided, on our first date, that she wanted to go to the shooting range, and I would buy the ammo. I did, and I still got the better part of the deal, even though she outshot me. I guess the Army does train them right.

I use it when trying to determine bullet weights, or weighing cases. I use my beam scale for any powder charge. When I first got the digital scale, I tried it with my check weights, and it was way off (at least, I hope it was, since my beam scale showed the "correct" weight.)

All the books I have only list data for jacketed; but my bullets are cast. I know what you mean about being scared of these little cases.

This is actually very common...for CAST bullets. 9mm/.380 (9mm Kurtz) will fire a jacketed bullet of .355 diameter and a cast bullet of .356 diameter; similar to a .38 special/.357 shooting jacketed of .357 and cast of .358. Have you been able to find any reliable data for these bullets? I...

I don't have my loading notebooks with me now (in the process of moving), but I use Titegroup when loading for my .38. One of my favorite loads is 3.3 gr, which is one of the smaller holes in the smallest standard disc. You should play around with the disc and weigh a few charges it throws...

How about a Bersa Thunder .380. Great little gun. I paid ~$150 used in 2005. I have since put about 2k rounds through it. Great little plinking gun. Also makes a good summer CCW. Not a whole lot of power behind the .380 bullet, but I can definitely place my shots with it. Even new at...

One more for PA (at least my area): *Gun shops abound. There are four or five decent gun shops within 15 minutes' drive of my house. *Three public, three private shooting ranges within 15 minutes drive. Plus my extremely private range :D

I have been there...I try to get there at least once a week...best store in the area. The only thing they don't carry is bulk lead bullets.
