What about a Tikka?
The .223 I've got has a 1:8 twist, and apparently they're highly accurate right out of the box. I haven't shot mine yet (picked it up on Tuesday), so I can't say for sure just how accurate it'll be, but it's hard to find anything negative about them when it comes to...
"Say I am loading 3.1 grains of powder and I want to know if my measure is throwing closer to 3.0 or 3.2, I just throw ten charges, weigh them all and divide by 10 and you’ll get “3.1x”."
I agree jmorris, that's exactly what I do!

Like the others said, it'll go as fast as you decide.
Myself, I find I can load 400 an hour very comfortably. By that I mean that I can take the time to look inside each and every case before placing a bullet on it to verify the powder charge. As well as keeping a general eye on the press...
Hi Bigcim,
I got a loadmaster last March (set up for 9mm), and after some initial growing pains, it's working very well.
I had no previous experience in reloading, but I'm quite mechanically inclined and fairly patient when it comes to figuring out why a given piece of mahcinery is...
FieroCDSP, after I saw it mentioned earlier in the post, I went and had a look at my Loadmaster too, 'cause I couldn't remember ever seeing a wire on the primer tray. There's definitely no wire on mine either, and I bought it this past March. Although in one picture on the instructions it's...
I absolutely agree with jfh's post.
I'm a newbie at reloading, and I started out with a loadmaster last March. I'm pretty mechanically inclined (one of my hobbies is motorcycle mechanics, among other things...), so I decided to start with a progressive. I wanted to reload 9mm, & planned to...
I agree with what the others have said.
I'm running the same setup as you it sounds (Loadmaster w/ FCD in position 5 & commercial cast bullets...), and was having the same problem until I started belling the case mouth a bit more.
Prior to doing this I was having to really work at it to...
Answer to #3
Is simple. Supply and demand.
There are a finite number of Norinco's in the US because of the import ban, so when someone wants one, they are forced to pay a premium. I'm only adressing #3 in your post because it's the only one I have any experience with. But I do agree that...
I love this thread!
Makes me feel like I'm not the only one out there...:)
Only been loading since April or so, and only in 9mm so far & I've already got buckets of brass just waiting to be cleaned up.
I've been accumulating stuff to start loading for my .270 as well so I can work up...
I tried it with Bullseye to get a light 3.5gr load under a 147LRN 9mm bullet & had a similar experience. Gonna try it with unique next and see if it does the same thing.
I'll run through the list too and see if it helps though...
Thanks for the suggestions jfh!:)

The same stuff we use for case cleaning - crushed walnuts. They use it as bedding for reptiles.
Some of it is called "lizard litter" by name, but if you just ask for crushed walnuts they'll know what you're talking about.
Ends up being about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of the RCBS brand stuff...
