First Gun: Remington 870 vs. Mossberg 500

I bought both on the same day. Ended up giving the 870 to my son, (he's larger than me), and kept the 500 for myself and as a loaner

    Budget Shell Holder

That's a good rig. Back in the old days we used everything from wooden boxes to old socks to carry our shells. Are you going to be shooting clays, or?

    where to buy RIA 1911

They're hard to find around here too. I got mine at a gun show. It came with Pachmayr grips, one mag and no box or papers for $420.00 OTD. Haven't seen another one, even at the shows. I did check the 1911 forum a couple times. Not much there either.

    S&W Model 29 Question

IF you had a 29-3, 8-3/8" with a barrel which had rotated a bit to the left and IF you were going to send it back to the factory, and IF it was one of the most accurate revolvers you own, would you: A. Have the barrel reset and pinned, or B. Replace the barrel with the 6-1/2" version,or...

RIA 1911 Shoots Left (not me, honest!)

My RIA did the same thing. I think I just tapped the rear sight a tiny bit. Then, the more I shot it , the more it improved. Mine was posssibly operator induced. It does much better now that I'm used to it.

re: Smith & Wesson Model 29-3

If you're referring to the front sight as the "front of the ramp", my 8-3/8" 29-3 has the same problem, (with the front sight). My barrel rotated to the left a few degrees so I sent it back to the factory for repair. When it came back it was still off center. The grooves in the top strap are...

    Using Barrel as Case Gauge

I do use barrels or cylinders too and have had only one issue. The one problem I've encountered is with a Ruger Blackhawk convertible. I have loaded .45 ACP rounds that fit and function in my ACP barrel just fine. The same ones will not fully enter the ACP cylinder in my Blackhawk. and...

    lswc vs lrnfp

I use 200 gr. SWC and 230 gr. RN in either lead or copper plated. I use an OAL of 1.250 for both and have had no problems with them. I thought I had some RNFP' s in 230 gr. but I took a quick look and don't have any. I do have 'em in 250 gr. though but those are for my Colt loads.

    Favorite/ Best 1911 brands!

I have an RIA and a Springfield. Best buy was the RIA but the Springfield has many more features, (at a higher cost). I voted for the Springfield.

    sks help please

Back in the pre klintoon ban era, we picked up a Chinese and a Russian SKS. The only difference was that one had a blade bayonet and the other had the spike version. We bought an assortment of magazines from five or six rounders up to twenty or thirty. The high cap's were made by USA...

    Hi powers

It looks to me like Browning has added the Hi-Power to their 2008 catalog. I also heard that they are starting to arrive at some gun shops. If that is true it should take the pressure off the used HP market. Good luck.
