Growed up at turkey/card shoots but there ain't many around my parts of NC anymore. Still a few spread out. But it used to be a big thing. It's where my love for shotguns especially old single shots began. There's more card/money shoots around now days then there is good old fashioned turkey shoots. But them guys have 5 to 10 thousand dollar custom built rail guns that will drive that #9 shot through the bullseye like a slug. I've built a pretty good shooter out of my old winchester 1300 but it's still technically "stock" and doesn't hold up to them money shoot guys with custom bullseye shotguns.Turkey shoot (at paper target) season approaches. I shot my Springfield (Savage) 94 with Tenite stock for pattern at 25 yards. 30 inch barrel with old fashion pre-plastic shot cup Full Choke. For years it has stood unused in the gun cabinet.

A gift from my late brother Terry decades ago. And really tight pattern. Feels like it weighs 4 lbs. Kicks like a mule. I got a nice pattern on paper with one shot. Shot at clay pigeon on a berm at 55 yards. My shoulder sad enuf.
What is this "scoped" you speak of??00 S&W BHA carbine at 100 yards with peep site. Funny today at the range I was the only one that was using iron sites. Even the pistols had red dots or lasers all the rifles were scoped.
There's an old roadhouse maybe 3 miles from me, it's been there for more than 100 years. Built back before prohibition days as a dance hall, it was out in the sticks back then. I'm certain they sold hooch 'under the table'.Growed up at turkey/card shoots but there ain't many around my parts of NC anymore. Still a few spread out. But it used to be a big thing. M855 sucks for accuracy.1. Sighted in my sons .243 for Hornady Superformance 95gr SSTs. I am considering buying some in .257 Roberts and have never used them so I said what the heck. I had some returns at Academy so I exchanged for an overpriced box. Shot four inches right of the Federal Blue box. A quick scope adjustment and ready
2. I freaking HATE AR-15s. I just cannot shoot them. I have this older Rock River Lar-15 made in 2005-2006. Someone told me it is an A2 design. Anyway I shot it today with M855 62gr ammo and it sucked. Bigly. Badly. From 100 yards the group was outside of 10 inches. I have several open sighted guns I shoot inside three inches at 100 yards. I have no idea why I suck at ARs, but I do. I have two and I may trade them for a Mini-14.
3. The EZ 380 i mentioned a few weeks ago that didn't function out of the box new came back to me from S&W. And yes it now shoots. I even carried it today just to break in the holster. Shot 60 flawless rounds today so thats about 150 since I got it back. Looking good.
Someone tell me why I can't shoot an AR please.
The LCPII is a great little gun when you can't carry that larger 1911Shot my Ruger LCP 2……..meh. Think I’ll keep carrying my 1911.
Good luck hunting!!!.223 Handi and Savage 340 in 30-30.
The 30-30 did pretty well. Shooting some 170gr CorLok Remington ammo from around 2000. Did just fine.
I think the .223 started to “walk” grouping a little due to heat. First few rounds were pretty tight, after heat up the group started to get bigger. My son shot it and did pretty good too.
The Barnes TSX shot tighter than the Speer 50gr SPs. Maybe they would both serve to up the powder a bit, but if he can kill a deer(s) tomorrow I’ll be happy.
Not arguing that the 45acp isn't a great round. The 45acp is my favorite semiautomatic round. The 380 is my personal minimum.True. But a fat .45acp round sure is reassuring. Of course anything is better than a sharp stick.
Yikes!! I'd be cryingMy older brother dropped my Crimson Trace 5-25X50 scope on it's head, on concrete, attached to a rifle, a few months back
Nice!morning.
The PSA AR functioned flawlessly with new Duramags.
It was tempting. But the hard part was showing no emotion and telling him not to worry, I doubt it hurt anything, as I’m sick inside.Yikes!! I'd be crying
