If I stumble across one for the current year I’ll pick it up. I don’t necessarily go looking for them. However, they are a good resource of updated info.

I’ll probably by one due to Hodgdon’s screwed up online manual. It doesn’t allow looking at all powders at a glance for a particular bullet weight. Very tedious going through one powder at a time…Obviously the IT folks aren’t shooters/reloaders…

Didn't it used to allow it until a few months ago?

Agreed, "tedious" is a very good word for it. I'm hoping they enhance it to allow multiple selections again.

Yeah, but they redid it within the past few months (last fall?).

I buy one about every 4th year or so. Sadly a lot of great old cartridges I have get dropped, and new WHY?? hot calibers are added as well as data for some fancy niche powder. Just the way of the world I guess.

It's a handy reference to have at arms reach, but unless you're into the newest stuff coming out, you probably only need to buy it once.

My complaint about the annual manual is that last year they dropped the 6mm BR so now I have to go on line to see if any new powders are available for it.

I have not bought a Hodgdon annual manual in a few years, mostly because my reloading efforts have waned due to the pandemic, But they have good information especially related to new powder products.

I've seen them in grocery stores magazine racks but I usually get them from a gun sales emporiums.

I just wait till they include one for free with one of my orders for this one. I got the 23 version in about July as they were getting rid of them...

*scratches neck*

Oh, because metallic cartridge reloading can be a dangerous endeavor and perhaps the data, if made free to users, would help reduce or maybe even eliminate potential situations that might be catastrophic.

I like the way data is printed on powder bottles, but the manufacturers could do more to spread that data for free. Might even make folks try the products more and enhance sales, dunno. Just a thought.

Good arguments for it... ;)

They spend a lot of money researching all the many possible loads for a Lot more different rounds nowadays. They need to recoup that , and with such a small retail niche market, selling data helps recover some of that.

And 7.62x39. One year trapdoor loads. Their way to let you know what you have isn't popular

If elected I promise free data for everyone to protect you from yourself. Really
