I broke the ejector on my Winchester 94AE .357 at the weekend - I found some of the ejector on the floor but no sign of the spring. These parts are almost unobtainable in the UK but it is a fairly common problem with the 94, particularly in .357.
So spent yesterday afternoon teaching myself how to wind springs. I bought 5 different diameters of spring steel music wire from .018 -.026" and with a bit of trial and error got the hang of turning out reasonable springs. Fitted it and used the rifle today for a 20yd standing competition - all worked well with no problems.
