I doubt many have heard of this little beauty.
I discovered it during a conversation with a friend about European arms manufacturers -- He brought up a young and little-known company named "Unique Alpine". They make this little beauty:

There's a review on it at Sniper Central, which can be read here:

Look at the grouping

Unique Alipine's website is unique-alpine.de, if anyone cares to read in German.

Apparently, the company doesn't have all their insurance sorted out for export to the US, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up stateside eventually.

Sarge,
You can get those rifles man. I have a friend in Virginia who got hold of one in .300 Win. Mag. last Spring. It's freakin' amazing . . . the most accurate .30 cal. rifle I've ever seen!!! Didn't shoot it because I'm LH and it has a dedicated RH stock and grip. But I saw my buddy Randy hit 1 gallon water jugs with it repeatedly at a range of 1000 yds! I just found it extremely impractical for serious use afield. But then it doesn't have to be an M40A1 when it's chambered for the .300 Win. Mag. and can hold sub-0.5 MOA out to 1 klick (off the bench, or course).

Woah, I didn't know you could get them here yet! I'll have to let my buddy know who showed me this thing !

I wonder if this would ever be picked up by sharpshooters (such as LEO, possibly military) -- assuming they begin to offer a different style barrel, as the stainless wouldn't be the best choice given the situation they'd be in. I wish I had 5 grand...
