This AM finds me more nostalgic... maybe I just need bran. Anyway, the top of my two 625 Mountain Guns below, both .45 Colt, is likely the last one I'd say goodbye to. My wife bought it for me 8/02 - just before our post Labor Day vacation (Hey, rates are lower then - and no kids!!) to Gulf Shores, AL. I funded it with the money from a gunsale, as the gun I intended to buy was gone from the pusher's display case. It had been there forever... I was sad.
The first night on the coast, my wife was 'cold' - and wanted a blanket from the condo's closet. As I pulled it from the upper shelf, the blue plastic S&W box fell - bonking my head, but I caught it. Yep, she had bought that new MG, an '01 625-7, for me - my first-ever S&W - started a trend - or was it that hit on the noggin? Anyway, I added more - including the LN '96-vintage 625-6 shown below my 'keeper'. The older model gets more use these days - preserving my original S&W. I suspect I'll always have it - it's also the reason I started reloading - and I have enough homebrew .45 Colts to last a while, too.
Like the OP, my favorite wheelgun that I own is my S&W 620. I must've gotten lucky, as it has one of the best factory trigger jobs I've ever run across, and it only gets better the more I shoot it It's great for reloading purposes, too.
My 4" Blue Colt Diamondback in 22 is my favorite and has been for a long time. My favorite centerfire revolver is S&W Model 57 Mountain Gun at the moment.
"What's your favorite...?" is a frequent question and I am never sure how to answer it. I like so many different models and types and generally have several of the various variations and I can't really pick one.
I have more S&W Model 27s than any other handgun so I guess it's my favorite based on the number owned. But I also love my other S&Ws and my Colts.
That is a tough one, but right now I am having a lot of fun with an S&W 25-5, but you know, my Trooper MK III is the sniitz & my Model 19 is sweet too, gosh, that Redhawk.........
I just can't do it. My brain would explode if I kept trying.
I think my favorite is one of the two Colt Official Police. I have one marked NY State Police and one that is well carried and I think the 400 rounds I have put through it this month are close to the amount. Smooth action and really accurate. I put a pachy grip on one and that made it even better.
Colt Lawman 2" .357 is My favorite wheelgun, followed closely by My Colt Frontier Scout .22lr wearing a set of Jay Scott grips. Both are well made accurate guns . Both are fun to shoot also, with the Frontier Scout being cheaper to feed.........WVleo
