Cut down the grass in front of it for a clearer view. I think some of the blank shots we're still getting in daylight is birds flying past it. They don't move around much at night and the night shots have mostly game in 'em now.

Ohhh...MC.... You have work to do. I hope you enjoy the night shift. (LOL) :D
Thats a pretty nice, young, dark horned Buck. And them hogs gotta go.
Not sure #4 counts!
Looks like a possum and a coon. Depends on how hungry you are.

I threw in the coon/possum cause that just shows me the camera is actually working well. :D

We've caught 4 hogs this month so far since resetting the trap. 2 died from the heat, unfortunately, dangit, nice 150 lbers, too. We got a couple of 50 lbers in it the other night and I have a bunch of sausage to make this morning. Deboned a lot of it for sausage.

The trap is set, but it's sorta like fartin' in a hurricane out there. Trap one, 10 more show up. They've really taken over last couple of years.

I can't tell on THAT deer, but it might be a 9 or 10 point. Can't see the brow tines on him. Hard to say. Minimum an 8 I guess, but I've never shot more than an 8 out there and he's a nice one for down there and this year. The spring was bone dry, the grass didn't grow, the acorn crop sucked. I didn't expect much, but we have been feeding some protein feed with the corn. Maybe that helped him? Who knows.

I got a couple of smaller bucks and some doe so on the camera so the deer herd seems to be okay. I noticed on the 26th, the hogs came in a little after 4, then that buck came in right about 6 when the hogs left and if I'd been down there early morning, I'd have had a show.

I don't mind sitting out there at night, but pack it in by midnight. I'm not a night guy. But, my son-in-law has more energy than sense. :D He can try to thin the hogs. LOL I go down there occasionally and sit and have shot one around 10PM on the stand. It does get your adrenalin goin' when you hear 'em comin' in the dark. :D I'll wait til after deer season to mess with that, though.

Yes it does!!! and waiting till after Deer season to night hunt is probably a wise choice. I hope you and your son-inlaw have a great season. I've been eyballing Marlin lever action 45/70's here lately. I don't really need one. I just got the new gun itch. I hope it passes soon. ;)

Or, lordy, do I know THAT itch. ROFL! I've been battling off several itches of one kind or another lately. I just got my tax statements on my land and house and that pretty much quells any new gun thoughts plus the damned old refridgerator seems to be getting low on freon or something, probably have to replace that POS soon. I'm trying to hold out til after Christmas, though, on that. At least I'll have an ice maker, again. Mines been out for several years. I'm kinda thinkin', I have this 7 mag that has this WONDERFULLY bright 3x9x44 Weatherby Supreme scope on it. I think it'd make a dandy night hunting hog rifle. I ain't usin' it for anything else, but lord knows it'll put anything down I shoot with it, LOL! I bought it when I was hunting New Mexico 20 years ago and haven't used it in 15 years, I guess. No need for a big caliber new rifle, just need to rustle up all my old brass and crank out some rounds for it.

And same to ya, happy hunting. Duck season this Saturday and my birthday is Sunday so that's my birthday present nearly every year. :D

BTW, prayers for my SIL to learn how to properly lead a duck. Be a shame if he went through the season without shooting one. ROFLMAO! That boy needs some instruction and practice. We went to the range the other day, but shot pistols and rifles. I had my 10 gauge just patterning some handloads my buddy wants for his BPS. When SIL gets his 835 ultimag he has on lay away, I'll pick up some clays. That'll be the excuse to get him out to the range without insulting him with (you need to learn how to shoot) or something. LOL

Good luck huntin those night critters! I spent two DAYS huntin highly pressured nocturual critters last weekend, and had to eat fast food all week! :p

Hey MCgunner, you are going to get blank images. Sometimes they are birds. In your case, they may be birds landing in/behind the grass. However, some of the images will undoubtedly be from wind movement of the grasses.

Given the throw of the flash on that camera, you might want to tilt your camera upward slightly. If not, then if you can raise the camera to a higher level with the same downward tilt, you should get better images.

Thanks for the tip, DNS. I haven't even seen the thing, SIL has been messing with it. When I check the trap tomorrow, I may just see if I can tilt the thing back. He went down there tonight to put the card back in the camera, doesn't have a spare, yet. I have one in my Vivitar I can put in it, only a half gig, but hopefully that'll be enough until he gets a bigger SD card.

I'm gonna get me one of 'em, too. I'll probably set mine up on the trap for a bit to see what keeps tripping the door and getting back out. I suspect coons and see coon tracks. I just wanna watch 'em open the door and leave. LOL, smart little critters.

An', hey, them hornless fugly deer are the best eatin'. :D I just got rhough making up about 20 lbs of fresh sausage. Been on my feet all afternoon sausage making. Decided to sit down with a cold beer. :D

I envy your hog "problem" down there. If everyone would just eat them, maybe the problem would go away.
