It seemed a little low, I was not planning on buying a gun but it was sitting there all lonely and the price was right so I brought it home.

I need to start learning about the 1911. How to carry it and take it down and such, I will search the forums for a while.

A great price for what appears to be an unmolested Norinco 1911.

Everyone loves to hack the Norincos.

Only thing I am going to do to this one is shoot it. From what I have read the norincos are no longer being imported. Glad I swooped this one up, I'm really starting to like the feel of the 1911. Ught ohhhh.....

I had one that I'm currently kicking myself for selling. I needed money pretty badly, and I was gun-rich and cash-poor. The guy that bought it is pretty thrilled with it. I loved it every second I owned it.

Sooner or later every one comes back or migrates to the 1911.....there's just no other.
I hear Glock and Ruger maybe now comming out with 1911 models.
Nice pistol..............hope you enjoy it.

Looks a lot like the m1911a1 I picked up for $375. You did good.

If it's in good shape, it's a good deal.

I spent my first $300 Bush tax check on a used one a friend had.

It needed some work, but is now 100%. I didn't spend the price difference between it and the next best thing on parts replacement and tuning.

The major parts, frame slide and barrel are all first rate. Some of the smaller internal parts were hideous crap. The leaf spring on mine was bare metal and bright red with rust. The plastic "GI" grips melted to my hand when I cleaned the gun the first time! They must have been made out of something like polystyrene. I replaced them with a set of Ajax fake ivories.

I frequently carry mine concealed and have total confidence in it. I prefer the 200gr. Hornady TAP JHPs in it. Too bad I couldn't find any the last time I needed to buy ammo.

How do you carry yours? position 1? I have heard there are a few ways. I like how you can carry the 1911 with the hammer cocked back.

There are only two ways to carry the 1911. Condition one or condition three. Condition two requires you to manually drop the hammer while keeping a round in the chamber.....great way to have an ND. If you get a hair up your **** to carry it in condition two, build a clearing barrel.

I had a CCW instructor in Utah who carried his auto (glock) condition 3. But he practiced practiced practiced and could bring the gun from the holster, rack the slide, and present it to the target in a freaking blurr.

On my hip, I carry my (new) 1911 condition 1. In the car I put it in condition 3.

Great find, by the way. My best friend has one, he bought back in the day when they were still being imported. Its a great, reliable, and true to the milspec design gun. You'll enjoy shooting it.

I never carry any M1911 any way except cocked and locked. It's really hard to chamber a round when you're using one of your hands to keep somebody from choking, beating or stabbing you.

I use a Don Hume 715M IWB holster. There are better IWB holsters and cheaper IWB holsters, but no better, cheaper IWB holsters. I will eventually replace it with a more expensive "tuckable" IWB, but until then, it works more than well enough.

Yep its love. I'm kinda poor right now so I drove to the woods and put 50 rounds of Sellier & Bellot 230 grain ball though her. Ran flawlessly and I could bounce a tin coffee can around at 10 yards easily. I love the feel. When I get some time and money I will feed her some wwb jhp and see if that is reliable.

I also stopped buy the gun shop and picked up a cheapo uncle mikes iwb holster and packed her around town iwb cocked and locked. It was surprisingly comfortable and I have no issue carrying cocked and locked. I pack chambered glocks around all the time so its an easy transition.
