I like Unique, or at least I did, 5 grains in magnum brass and I seat cast DEWC to the crimp groove.

Took the red dot off my carbine, the 9 month accuracy and reliability testing period is over. (1 FT eject, 2 FT fire, exc accuracy with quite a few bullet types) So I loaded another batch of 9mm Luger with Blazer brass, Rem 5-1/2, 4.4 W231 and Sinterfire 100 grain frangible FP’s @ 1.120”.

Switching back from Power Pistol to W231 for some 147 plinkers for my 9mm carbine. Blazer brass, Rem 5-1/2, 4.3 W231, Rainier 147 plated RNFP @1.125”. Some of the last of my Rainier bullets, they were a darn good bullet.

Do you really think it would be 300 fps slower in a Glock than a 8” AR with 147’s? I don’t think it would be that much. A hot 115 load would loose that much, but all the chrono data I’ve seen of 147 loads is amazingly consistent from 4” to 16”.

I think so. I use Bullseye and W231 in pistol and carbine loads with 147’s. Quiet even without a suppressor in the carbine.

Somewhat. Like everything Redding makes, especially the comp dies and the 10X. For components I like everything Hornady makes, but I’m growing very fond of RMR bullets.

Fired up the BL 550 for the first time in a while. Loaded 9mm Luger with GFL brass, Rem 5-1/2, 5.0 grains Power Pistol and 124 RMR match winners @ 1.055”.

The mag release cuts might be off, causing low rounds.

If it were me I would be very concerned about that. I agree that you may have a serious issue. Worth a thread of its own.

I bet more knowledgeable folks will be awake in a few hours if you can wait, but I would bet out to the right when viewed from the shooting position.

IMO, HS-6 should be reserved for fire and brimstone loads.

I loaded my coated MBC 125’s to 1.055” and the sweet spot for me was 3.6 grains W231. I would start at 3.2. With a can I would think HS-6 would be louder than W231, more powder, more noise. W231 is also cleaner.

Maybe the buffer is pumping action sludge back at you.

I’m not a gunsmith, but I believe some of the old guns had tapered dovetail slots and were designed for in and out on the right side, but my memory is fuzzy.

Finding the right OAL is about the only obstacle. My Kimber needs them far shorter than the Glock to chamber properly. They (MBC 125 coated SWC) have fed fine in the two pistols and my Ruger carbine, solid accuracy.

Yup, 200 with fast powder. I use 200 grain SWC’s with Clays, but they were very position sensitive.
