I am talking about a clear cut favorite between the S&W 686 and Ruger GP100. I have both in stainless with a 4 inch barrel and would like to name one a favorite, but I just can not do it. The 686 has a better single action trigger, but the GP100 feels better in my hand. They both are very...
I used to hate Glocks! I owned a couple of 19's and the grip just felt wierd. Then I tried a Glock 30 and something about the short fat grip really worked, and it is a tack driver to boot. Then I bought a 26 and it is my favorite carry auto. I like other brands but there nothing wrong with the...
No. 1 , dont let the Sig lovers get you down. Sometimes flying in the face of convetional wisdom gives pause for thought. If i spent close to a grand on a new P226 it would be hard to admit that a Glock, M&P, or XD might could have accomplished the same purpose, while being lighter, just as...
I agree that the P226 is overpriced! I personally think it is one of the top three combat handguns in the marketplace, but the other two are 40 percent less. Would not purchase a new one at todays asking price.. just my 2 cents.
I have the model 17 rtf2 and I love it! I personally like it better than the 4th generation and regular third generation models. I am hoping to by a 22 next.
I had one a couple years back. The feel was terrific and the fit and finish excellent. However, It would fail to extract to often. Even thought I liked it, I decided to get rid of it because I did not feel comfortable using it for protection. I would have gladly kept it if it had been as...
The shooter must have shot gangsta style! Shot placement is the key. I do not feel more comfortable with a 45 over a 9mm. Hollow points and practice would have resulted in at the very least a longer stay in the hospital.
Colt python is the third best double action revolver ever made........followed by the model 27....... followed by the GP100. Of course I am partial to Rugers:D
I have a 317 and love the weight for carrying when hunting with my rifle. I would start a single six fund and you will definetly have all your bases covered with the 22lr short of an automatic.
I have also been burned once by buying a Taurus Tracker 22lr. Firing pin broke on first trip to the range, sent it back waited 3 weeks, and when I got it back the firing pin had not been touched. Called them and explained my frustration, sent it back and they fixed the firing pin, but scratched...
I love the GP100 improvements! The tripple lock-up, offset cylinder notches, and awesome grip ( not the new houges ) all equal one of the finest and most well thought out revolvers ever made. The weight balances very nicely with the 4 inch full lug or 6 inch half lug barrells. Nothing wrong with...
I might could live with one centerfire handguns (Ruger 6" GP100 half lug barrell) and one rimfire (Ruger single six 6-1/2" barrell). I cant think of two better cover everything revolvers east of the Mississippi.
I think given your requirements that the charter arms 44 special target model with the 4" barrel would work nicely and also no need to worry about scratching pretty finish etc. It may not load up to what you want to, but for the southeast it would be sufficient. good luck!
I can shoot my G30 better than my 19,22,and 26. While the grip at first felt too large, first trip to the ranged revealed it to be very comfortable and recoil was non existant. It is definetly my favorite Glock.
Thanks fellows! I really love the GP100 design, but never cared a lot for the looks. I have owned a Python which IMO is the nicest looking revolver ever made, but for watever reason it never fit my hand right even after trying several grips. The 686 and GP100 always felt just right. I stupidly...
I have always liked the GP100 except they are not that refined. I sent a beater to Marc at Gemini Custom and then made a trip to Jim at Badger Grips. The results speak for themselves. The grips are perfect for my hands!! The trigger pull is awesome and Marc kept it classic looking yet refined...
