yes.
Nothing fits my criteria of being LCP sized with a good trigger, no safety, useable sights, and reliability.
G42 is too big, LCP/Bodyguard/Pico + a bunch of others have bad triggers, p238 has a safety, and p380 still has tons of QC/reliability issues.
G19
lol at whoever picked the 1911.
No infantryman wants to carry that when you've already got 60lb on your back.
Not like standard enlisted infantry get handguns anyway, unless they're 240 gunners.
In the real world, there's very little difference between the two.
Use whatever you can shoot fastest/accurately with that fits with your wardrobe/mode of carry.
No one even makes a good pocket 380 in my opinion.
Kahr: like 30% reliability issues (pulling that number out of my butt, but it's probably close)
G42: too big
LCP: bad trigger
Sig P238: Don't like safeties. Mine wouldn't eject the last round's brass. The empty would just sit on top of...
I'd go BCM KMR with 11.5" barrel
If you want something functional with pretty much guaranteed quality, but a preassembled upper from BCM or DD.
If you just want a project gun, build it yourself.
You won't save much, if any, money by building it yourself with parts of similar quality.
