Graphite or mica for static. Pencil lead ground up or smeared on the powder measure. Most powder has graphite coating, so you can just cycle the measure with a half pound of powder and that should do it. By cycle, just fill the hopper and run it into another container. Mica you'll have to buy...
I've seen this question for the last year or so. They must do them in batches, probably to get a better price at the foundry that casts them, or the machine shop that finishes the castings.
All the Commie guns are real brass flingers; AK, SKS, Makarov, Tokarov, and my CZ 52. I'm always getting complaints at the range about them. And I've got a few down the shirt as well.
And remember the ejected brass is going to take a whole bunch of heat with it. Case less ammo has this problem, no brass, no heat going with it. So all of it ends up in the barrel and causes problems....
Being a newbie, follow the instructions. Then try moving the die up and down and see what effect it has on the brass. Not a lot of moving, quarter or half turn, up and down. You need to get an idea what is happening to the brass, either from moving the die, or a longer case. Which is the same as...
Yep, no way could you make new ammo for anywhere near what the surplus is selling for. Figure it's 40 years since it was adopted by the Warsaw Pact countries, there are billions of rounds in those countries that will be sold as they adopt 5.56. Import ban in this country is the biggest...
You really need to use a vice to hold the die. That is one tight mother, needs to be to keep the pin in place. I was surprised at how much torque it took the first time I messed with one. I can see somebody having trouble with just two wrenches.
This is a perfect use for the dip, dry, and bake lube that bayou bullets is selling.

I bought the Bator mould from Mid South last year. Haven't tried it yet, had other projects. For plinking, this is probably the way to go...
Nope, I have the same combination, and the Lyman are a smaller diameter than the Forster. I have a lathe, so I made up some sleeves that press fit over the Lyman shanks and now they work.
The Hornady one is the one to get. You just pull the handle down to compress the collet. All the rest have you spinning the top of the die to compress the collet, and then unwind it to open. Up and down is quicker than spinning.
OP, it really helps to research/read about a new tool before you...
So its official then...being a pro2000 user myself all 8 of us are here in one thread. Talk about a small world.
Come on, just 3 more and the Pro2000 users will run out of fingers!!:) :) :) =3
1990 to about 1994, when Clinton banned importation. Those were about $160 back then. I almost bought one; but the LGS took one of the mags out of the box and was selling those for $15 more...
I read at the time the 1911 was an accurate copy, cost $350 or so, and was used as the frame for...

Is the shaft worn down to 1/4"? I've been messing around with stuff like bearings for 40 years, and I've never bought one that had mixed metric and SAE...
Like I said, Lee advised not to use Federal primers in any of the priming systems he sells. Federal is the only company to use "basic" priming formula. They patented it in 1949, and it's their baby. Nobody else has those big trays, so they must be using the "normal" priming formula. It's a...
Wow, all 3 RCBS progressive press owners in the same thread....be honest, green progressives are just not popular. Never have been. They've tried, but for some reason they only appeal to a very tiny minority. Like you guys.:)
With the anal-retentive element in reloading; they would never go and just hang an unknown spring!! They would have to know if it matched the metallurgy, dimensions, and had a lifetime warranty! You know whom you are...
It's typical RCBS marketing; you need to buy additional, not included, at separate cost, items to make it work.
$95 for a priming tool, $32 for the loader, $48 for the strips for most primer sizes. Plus RCBS has been trying for over 30 years to make a decent progressive press...So if you want...
