Last week I picked up a S&W Pro Series compact. I saw it and had to have it. Not stainless. Has a scandium frame and is nice and light. I did swap out the grips for some different ones. You could almost forget you are carrying the piece if it wasn't for the sandpaper on skin feel of the...
You should check out 10mmtalk forums (http://www.10mmTalk.com) and take a look in their Current Production sections.
The basic thoughts are these:
Old style regular Witness in 10mm has square style slides and were just fine.
New style regular Witness in 10mm have rounded slides and crack...
I know it's semantics, and it takes a little more effort on the retailer's side to work the numbers, but, I would prefer to see something like:
Such and such firearm; Price: $412
Pay by cash or certified funds: $400
Rather than:
Such and such firearm; Price: $400
Pay by credit, add 3%...
Actually, this was Roddy Piper in John Carpenter's They Live.
Anyway..
I forget the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of "In a firefight, no man ever wished he had a smaller gun or less ammunition."
Going to throw my 2 cents in here;
I think 1911s are expensive for the same reason that Harley Davidsons are so expensive. You can get motorcycles that run better, faster, are more comfortable, etc, but there's just something about a Harley.
That being said, the 1911 is expensive because...
Now, this is just my opinion, but I say give them a call and find out what is up.
For a while now, I have had a guy's (and his wife's) credit information showing up on my credit reports with 2 of the three reporting agencies. He had the same first and last name, but different middle initial...
Ok, lots of info floating around in this thread. I'll just add my 2 cents worth as someone who is actually on an SSRI (Lexapro), and has been on it for almost 5 years. This is to fight depression, which as its own related conditions, including social anxiety.
The drug has changed my life...
I used a gun blue pen on my Blackhawk to cover some scratches, basically to prvent rust from settling there. It covers reasonably well, but upon close inspection, you can see that the pen leaves blueing that is a different hue than the original gun finish, and a bit shinier.
Black sharpie...
Lots of good advice here. I would just add one thing; I taught my wife to shoot using a S&W 1006 will full power 10mm rounds. She loved it. I told her to expect recoil, explained what it is and what happens, and let her shoot.
I taught my 19 year old cousin to shoot with a Ruger P345...
I really cannot make an informed opinion about this post without understanding the viewpoint of the other party.
Please post several pictures of your lady at varying angles so that we may get the entire scope of this encounter.
:)
I think you would be fine, since you are the owner, but if someone else carrying a concealed weapon tried to climb inside your clothing with you, that would make for a sticky situation.
I've carried my Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8ths in .45 Colt as a CCW for a while now. I carry 6 spare rounds for it in a snap-on belt carrier.
I have never felt under-gunned with it. For me, it feels right, and I am comfortable and confident in its use. That's good enough for me. After all, I am...
Sure, but you also have to keep in mind that a Hi-Point (made nearby in Dayton, Ohio) has a lifetime warranty, and is brand new, at that price. Regardless of how many times it's been bought, sold, traded or what number owner you are, if it has a problem, you send it in, and they fix or replace...
I have a New Model Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt in the 4 5/8" barrel length. I love the gun and the caliber. You can reload to a wide range of power levels in the gun. For the most part, for my target range loads, I use a 255gr lead round nose flat tip slug over 8.1 grains of Universal Clays...
I had a similar problem with one of the factory mags when I first got my P345. I took that mag apart, wiped it down with a silicone cloth and put it back together. Haven't had a problem since. I did notice that there was some "junk" in the mag body itself. In my case, a cleaning took care of...
