The TRP is between the Loaded and Custom Shop guns (ie: TRP Pro), so the fit and finish (slide to frame fit, trigger, etc.)should be better than the Loaded. You could always send them an email. iirc, Springfield has decent customer service and is good about returning emails.
you can sort of see the difference in safeties on the CZ-USA website, but I'll try to take a pic of mine tomorrow. I handled other models when I was looking for my gun and the SA safety is definitely bigger than on the standard 75B. The mag release is bigger too.
When I saw this this discussed in the past, someone pointed out that the straight mags are inherently unlikely to have the followers tip, and therefore don't need the "improved" followers.
That being said, I have both and they've been 100% reliable.
I'd go with one of the Armalites. There's really no advantage of a carbine length gas system and a few disadvantages as compared to a midlength on a gun with a 16" barrel.
I would still suggest at least buying the upper and lower separately and looking around on arfcom. I bought an RRA...
It's really not a good idea. Simple green is a pretty harsh cleaner, and if you happen to get it on the upper or lower, it'll remove the anodizing.
A gun-specific degreaser like Slip2000 will do a very thorough job without the risk of doing any damage.
If you're looking at a model with the PRI handguard, a big part of that price is the handguard. I'd recommend starting out with a flat top midlength and changing the handguard and getting new front sight as funds permit.
A RRA A4 midlength upper with a chrome barrel is about $435 from Legal...
you'll get as many opinions as answers, but I think you're over cleaning. I saw a thread just last night on snipershide (precision/long range shooting forum) where people were talking about going 100+ rounds between serious cleaning. I generally just use CLP and a few patches to get rid of...
Fulton Armory is based in Savage.
The folks at www.mdshooters.com (which is a good board worth checking out on its own) speak very highly of their quality, but their customer service seems hit or miss and they aren't the cheapest around.
Thanks for all the replies. About teaching her about shooting on the move, none of the public ranges around here allow anything but plain standing fire. The only range I know of that does allow/encourage "tactical" shooting is a private club that costs $350 the first year and $150 thereafter...
My girlfriend joined the Navy when she entered dental school and is at OIS right now (she's an Ensign and will become a full Lieutenant upon graduation from dental school). She was told the other day that if she ended up in Iraq, she'd be issued a sidearm but that dentists and physicians aren't...
I wasn't old enough to vote in 2000, but voted against Kerry in 2004. My opinion of bush was much better then than it is now; it has pretty much deteriorated from the moment he claimed that the 2004 election gave him a mandate and showed that people liked what he was doing.
. . . not to mention that he misrepresented the Miller decision. In that case, the ruling (which was given in the absence of a defendant or defense attorney), was that a sawed off shotgun wasn't protected by the 2A because it's not a weapon of the militia. It made no reference as to whether...
That makes sense. FWIW, I didn't intend to be critical. I think what you guys did is awesome and the video you ended up with does a great job of exposing the MMM for what they are. It would have been neat to hear the woman try to rebut something like "I won't sign the waiver because it's my...
lol why would he need to manipulate what they said? They don't need help to look ridiculous. :D
I do think the guy is too non-confrontational in the first vid (haven't watched the others yet). He should have said his problem with them is that they lie and spout misinformation and let the...
amazing that they allow him to make up numbers unchallenged. There haven't been anywhere near 30,000 murders in this country ever, let alone where the perps used guns.
Kinda funny that the MD state government took 7 days to determine that I (a native-born citizen with no criminal record of any kind) wasn't a criminal or terrorist the last two times I bought guns. :banghead:
I'm guessing the ATF has the same slogan as H&K: ". . . because you suck and we hate you."
-can't figure out if it was Correia or Coronach who coined that phrase:confused:
