Loaded 12 gauge next to the bed propped up by the headboard, loaded .357 in the headboard. But never under the pillow. Thats what knives are for! (in sheaths of course). A gun under the pillow just doesnt seem very safe to me, but I toss and turn all night.

I was raised to check if the gun was unloaded first. Even if someone says it isnt I ALWAYS check for myself. Its just kind of common sense IMO. Never point it at or near anyone, and never put your finger in the trigger hole unless you are 100% ready to fire.

IMO its an ugly piece of hardware. And its composite, not my personal favorite of mine in a firearm. For roughly the same price Ide rather get me ANOTHER SP101. The LCR in my opinion is really too lightweight (for my personal tastes), has a big trigger guard. Do yourself a favor if youre going...

Havent read all the pages on this thread but I would say .38 special +p, or .357's ( which is more likely than me using .38 +p's) in my SP101. But mine is a 3- 1/16" bbl.

I recently started carrying my Cold Steel Kobun again. Great knife for the price, not sure if the still make this one or not. I think its basically the same as the Recon Tanto, but Im 100% on that. The Kobun was 5.5" and the Recon Tanto was 7".

Just got back from the range with my 3" .357 SP. Wonderful gun and dead on accurate. I was very impressed. Put about 250 rounds through it, home loaded in the gray range between 38 special and .357. I cant say enough wonderful things about this little gem.
